sadly, it required the intervention of some "akabir" Muftis to explain to him that what he said was culpable. nevertheless - thanks to the learned Muftis & the social media outcry - Owais Noorani has done ruju; alHamdolillah.
I really can't believe this man is the son of Imam Shah Ahmad Noorani Siddiqui. I know he isn't an aalim but for him to make remarks like these, it is just mind boggling. I've heard some other anecdotal stuff about Owais Noorani which I will not state on this forum. Let's just say this person should not be in any position of religious authority. This just goes to show that no matter how great the family or lineage, or how great the teachers, there are always going to be imbeciles in every family/group. He certainly isn't the first son of a great Imam to be an embarrassment to his father.
