Assalamu alaikum, i agree, this is more common than is let on, i have heard of many such cases, majority of which are paklistani and some bengali as well. maybe not as common as affecting every other person, but still quite common these issues are. and its not just our parents generation, the same is being repeated in the generation who were born here to immigrants from pakistan. the ulema in general seem to have closed their eyes to this in this country. wasalam, haroon

bro faqir, honestly the matter is MUCH more common than the press actually know. Almost every other paki i know from the UK has been thru this...i am not maKING it up. highlighting others' problems doesn't make our own disappear. you are being reactionary.
speak for yourself. i don't know a single person whose parents are like this. its easy to pick a few instances and make it seem like all paki parents are like this. these parents should be prosecuted if they broke any laws. but, what about all the paedophile non-muslim parents, or the child abusing ones, or the alcoholics who neglect their kids? where are the articles about that? we must not turn a blind eye to this cruelty.
