AbdalQadir time to move along! will check pm's.

Yes I've seen this too. These are the kind of juhala that devs highlight as Barelwis. Sunni mawlanas should speak against this jahalah and especially the subtle matam in Muharram.

What I see even more than this, and it happens in Pakistan too, is the not celebrating the first eid after someone died.... Even if it was 9 months ago. That's ridiculous... So these guys will celebrate weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, graduations and everything in between. But on eid, they decide they're not 'doing' it.

I've seen this in the UK. If I've got it wrong, happy to be corrected.

There is a custom for all the relatives to go to the house of the recently deceased person on the day of Eid and offer condolences.

In Islam, mourning is for three days. Beyond that, it is prohibited.

So we shouldn't be going in big groups to the house to refresh the sorrow for their close ones on Eid day. It's a day of celebration but we're starting it off on a sad note.

It's better if you just visit the grave of the deceased and recite something there.
