it is obvious. alahazrat was an extraordinarily gifted writer. one of the striking aspects of his books is the words he chooses to put his point across. rarely, if any,* does he uses words that are inexact or inaccurate. especially in technical terms, it is difficult to find errors in his works. --- *alahazrat being human and a non-prophet, we do not believe him to be ma'Sum. we acknowledge that he could have made errors, like any other scholars before him - but such errors are very few or negligible. this is why he is deemed an authority.
Mufti Qasim Sahab's version is altered to some extent, for example he replaces the words of Amal Ahl Al Madinah with Amal of the Ulema, while Alahazrat stated Amal Ahl Al Madinah as a jurisprudencial maxim of the Maalikiyyah which has technical value in the Maaliki Fiqh and is upon the level of Tawatur and thus preferred upon the Khabar Al Wahid, while Mufti Sahab replaces this term with Amal of the Ulema which is not a jurisprudencial maxim in any Maddhab (including the Hanafi), if you see the list of the Qawaaid Usuliyah of the Hanafi Maddhab you won't find Amal of the Ulema as you find Qiyas or Ijma etc. but Alahazrat referred to Amal of Ahl Al Madinah specifically because it is an established usul of the Maaliki Madhhab just like Qiyas etc., So this alteration by (most respected scholar) Mufti Qasim Sahab changes the meaning of the statement of Alahazrat.
i can appreciate your enthusiasm, but the abridged version is not alahazrat's. thus if there are any mistakes made by whoever has abridged the work, it will be attributed to alahazrat. it will be also helpful if you mention if it is: 1. an actual translation of the original risalah OR 2. a translation of an abridgement (mufti qasim) OR 3. an abridged translation (abridgement by you) with help from mufti qasim's abridgement. === this is unclear from the many statements in the foreword and is pretty confusing to someone who is not familiar with alahazrat's work: ...I intended to translate this superb work of the Mujaddid ...I have also employed the work of Mufti Qasim (may Allāh preserve him), Rasāʾil-i Qādiriyyah, especially the section that is titled Qawl-i Imām-i Aʿẓam, which is essentially a translation and short explanation of the book al Fadl ul Mawhabi in the Urdu language. ...Wherever I deemed it necessary to use the original work, I used that, and whenever I considered it more appropriate to use the Mufti’s work, I utilized it. === mufti qasim has summarised alahazrat's risalah for beginners/students as a summary and introduction to the imam's work. see p.274 of the said book: https://www.ataunnabi.com/2018/09/rasail-e-qadriyya-mufti-qasim-attari.html as you have acknowledged, it is certainly not a translation of mufti qasim's summary. so this is essentially YOUR abridgement, and you should clearly indicate that it was abridged by you. --- also please correct this on the cover page by stating "Abridgement and Translation by"
Alhumdulillah, MashaAllah this is a very great effort to bring into notice of everyone one of the most important works of Alahazrat that is badly needed to be studied in our era, even many sunni ulema are unaware of the principles of the Mujtahidin regarding Hadeeth grading which are very different from the principles of the Muhadithin. Also Alahazrat has mentioned the importance of the Amal of Ahl Al Madinah in Maaliki Madhhab and how is it preferred over "saheeh" ahadeeth.
السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته I have written a translation of Al Fadl Al Mawhabi of Ala Hazrat, a book that is essential for answering the objections raised by the Wahabis and other deviants. Please take a look at it, and if you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know.
