I thought that I would also share the types of Sabr mentioned by Sayyidi al-Habib Umar: 1. Sabr Ala at-Ta'ah - Patience upon Obedience 2. Sabr Anil Ma'asi - Patience against disobedience 3. Sabr An ash-Shadaidi wa al-Balaya - Patience upon hard situations and tribulations... I recommend the SunniPath course by Habib on "Attaining Good Character".
Bismillah... Assalamualaikum wa Rahmatullah... From the little I have learnt, is that Shukr is part and parcel of a perfected Sabr...Hence the first... Another thing that was taught was that a Maqam is based on the following: Ilm - In this case that "Knowing that all the Ni'am are from Allah alone" Hal - "al-Farah bi in'amihi" or "joy upon his bestowal" Amal - "al-'Amal bi Ta'atihi" or "Acting upon obedience" The knowledge is supposed to inspire you a constant state that will give you the energy to perform the required actions... Allahu A'lam...
