Whats wrong with asking brothers, he teaches aqida down in the south and some family and friends study from him, i just wanted to be sure, dont think negative, i never slandered him, i just wanted to get an idea of wether he is firm or not, and the reply i recieved was positive so..

 

Do you have any reason to believe hes not a "sound scholar"?

If not why would you ask such a question?

 

From what ive seen and read of his works, he is a very talented individual, Allah Almighty protect him and grant him the ability to serve Sunniism.

To be very honest, and this has been on my mind for a while, I find these kinds of threads quite distasteful.

Unless I've missed it thus far, I don't think there is such a thing as a physical scale in our midst to measure a Sunni individual's 'staunchness' or whatever meaning you've ascribed to that word. So I think that doing this kind of thing is akin to discrediting and demeaning our scholars; it is likely that those who stumble across this thread will have doubt cast on the person in question.

I can go on and on but I'd rather not. If you think my point is valid then please consider it. If you disagree then feel free to continue this trend. I pray that no one views/interprets this post as anything but my sincere thoughts.

Note: I argue this point in favour of Sunni Scholars only and not those who are deviated or doing wrong openly. As for Hafiz Athar Sahib, one only has to look at both his written and spoken discourses to see what kind of person he is and what he stands for.

 

Dr Ather Hussain seems a nice guy who gets on with doing productive work in the background without shouting about it. May Allah tala protect him from misguidance.

 

Imam Asim is sunni. Sharing a stage with a non-sunni may become a problem, not with a sunni.

 

Im pretty shure he did some sort of event in Luton not to long back with Imam Asim... let's hope his not another version of Imam Asim (known to share stages with deviants happily)

Do brothers have any information about hafiz ather azhari is he a sound scholar as he is teaching aqida throughout the country, i was wondering wether he was staunch or not.
