Traditional Scholarship & Modern Misunderstandings Understanding The Ahle al-Sunnah - By Shaykh Abu Ammar 9) Haadhir Naadhir We, the Ahl as-Sunna wa'l-Jama'a, believe that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) is hadir and nazir which, simply put, means that he views our actions and in this way we are presented to him.He (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) is nazir, since he views our actions, both good and bad. Definition of Hadir/Nazir Mufti Ahmad Yaar Khan and Allama Ghulam Rasool Sa'idi write: "Hadir/ nazir does not mean that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) is present. Rather, it means that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) views the actions of his Ummah whilst he is in his grave. He can go from his grave to other places where he likes spiritually. He prays for us" [Sa'idi, G, R., Tawzeeh al-Bayan Sharh Sahih Muslim, chapter on 'Mi'raj', vol 1; Khan, Ahmad, Y., Ja al-Haq, chapter on 'al-Hadir-u-wan-nazir'] Extract from http://www.islamicinformationcentre.co.uk/alsunna3.htm#9 Visit the link for the full article
Sometimes mistakes cannot be helped, especially on that Wadud Shia'a quote thread. I did read the whole post, but please do not expect me to read the whole forum to get the picture. Confusions happen, sorry, just please let us breathe.
What do you mean for a change?!?! Your acting like you know me and giving me a lecture. just stop annoying me with your arrogance. if you want to prove something, be civilised. And when he/she said I found something interesting, he/she is talking about something else then later goes on to post this story about her/his life as a Muslim, I am not saying your wrong I am just saying, calm down, stop being so ignorant. stop being so arrogant and listen before goin off on an abusive rant!
Assalamulikum, Just take a look at his other posts in this forum. Use some intelligence for a change. Also READ the title of the thread that had the cut and paste post, wadood started. The thread is called "Shaykh Nazim former student" And in it brother wadood writes just before his cut and paste job "I found something interesting:". So I advise you to read and understand before you jump to conclusions. Walikum As Salaam
Why would he/she do that, and how do you know this, if you read the whole topic/thread yo will se that he/she is writing as if it is his/her story.
Assalamulikum WR WB, Firstly Wadood is not a sister but a brother. He is a staunch sunni. Before people jump to conclusions they should read the the thread posted carefully. Bro Wadood has merely posted what someone from another forum has posted there. Walikum As salaam.
Salamun Alaykum. You have to note that Wadud is not your typical shia'a. She accepts the four Khulafaa'a as seen in her signature. As far as i know, she is of the Shia'a that are considered to be Muslim believers. I say this because she says she is also a Naqshbandi, in which is the golden chain from Abu Bakr, the first Caliph. With saying this, it does puzzle me somewhat as to how exactly she is a Shia'a. This needs a seperate treatment, because if Wadud thinks is a Shia'a because of her love for Ahl Bayt, but stil believes as the Ahl us-Sunnah believe, then she is not a Shia'a, but a Sunni. She has every right to speak, her Shia'aness should not stop her from speaking her view here.
There is a hadith in which the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam is presented our deeds every friday. I believe in that hadith, and out of cautiosness go no further. You have refered to ayah from Surat ul Tawbah. Before disparaging my religious integrity, you should have reffered to the mufasirin. Did they mention ever that the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam was hadhir and nadhir? Is it a condition that i must believe in this without sufficent evidence to be a Muslim? A careful reading of my post would have told you that i remian silent and do not negate possibility. The reason why e-maan can be snatched away from those who argue back and forth about this, is that they could both be wrong, either side. Its a salvational matter to speak about Rasulullah salallahu alayhi wasallam. Therefore, i remain silent. And Allah knows best indeed
Read this: http://www.masabih.org/showthread.php?t=5037&highlight=Shaykh+Nazim By the way, JazakAllah Khair, the link helped.

Its very simple actually, nothing to remain silent about. All sufis know that HabibAllah is aware of our affairs at all times and when we do wrong it hurts him. Only someone who is stupid and mischievous (lacking piety severly at the same time, and this could be the reason why you suggest to remain silent) feels uncomfortable with such 'ideas'
Salamun alaykum The early generations never mentioned this as a point of Aqidah, later generations should not negate possibility, but rather stay silent. This should not be made an issue. I tend to find these arguments very troubling. They are like danger traps in which the Shaytan can easily snatch somebodies e-maan. Some things should not be disscussed. I hope i did not offend you with this reply.
As Salaam Alaikum, I don't think that I fully understand Hazir Nazir with the Prophet Muhammad(SAW), it makes it worse when the deo's and wahabis constantly show me hadith after hadith and ayat after ayat, that suposedly refutes it. Can you please give me evidence for this, and truthfully answer if most Sunni's beleive it, ir is it just Brelvi people. JazakAllah Khair.
