I love Imam Ahmed Rida Khan, such an personality I have never seen in the Sub Continent, a fountain of knowledge. It sometimes gives me the shivers that the strength of Awliya Allah can almost melt you down. I do imagine how Imam al-Haddad is, how Imam al-Tabari is, how Imam al-Zabidi is, how Imam al-Sanusi is, and when I read about Imam Ahmed Rida, I can get a glimpse Shaykh al-Hashimi started his movement in Syria, and Imam Ahmed Rida in India, because both of them wanted to preserve the Sunnah of our Habeeb in these lands. And Allah granted them victory. India/Pakistani/Bangladesh are still filled with the vastness of Ahl al-Sunnah and so is Syria
i read a long time somewhere that because students came from far away places to study at darul uloom manzar e islam under alaHazrat, some of them were unable to make it home for eid. alaHazrat, however, tried his best to make them feel at home during the festival. for the bengalis he would have prepared fish dishes and for the southerners their local dish. such was the benevolence of the scholar who was amongst the most prominent in reviving the sunnah in the past century and it is a sunnah to provide food for students.
