I think what the Brother meant was not "misquoting" but not quoting the full text.

  2. If you compare Shaykh GFH's quote with the Wahabiyya one you will see that the Shaykh has not misquoted. His quote contains the salient points from Ibn Baz's quote.

    This is GFH's quote:

To declare Allah transcendent beyond possessing body (al-jism), pupils (al-hadaqa), auditory meatus (al-simâkh), tongue (al-lisân), and larynx (al-hanjara) is not the position of Ahl al-Sunna but rather that of the scholars of condemned kalâm and their contrivance

and this is what Ibn Baz wrote according to the Wahabis you quoted from:
to declare Allah transcendent beyond possessing body (al-jism), pupils (al-hadaqa), auditory meatus (al-simâkh), tongue (al-lisân), and larynx (al-hanjara), and this is not the position of Ahl al-Sunna but rather it is that of the scholars of condemned kalâm and their contrivance...

As you see bro, what Shaykh GFH quoted is exactly what Ibn B said.

Ibn Baz also suggests corporal limbs for Allah Most High and Exalted in his statement in Taliqat Hamma `ala ma Katabahu al-Shaykh Muhammad `Ali al-Sabuni fi Sifat Allah ("Important Comments on What Shaykh al-Sabuni Wrote Concerning the Divine Attributes") that "To declare Allah transcendent beyond possessing body (al-jism), pupils (al-hadaqa), auditory meatus (al-simâkh), tongue (al-lisân), and larynx (al-hanjara) is not the position of Ahl al-Sunna but rather that of the scholars of condemned kalâm and their contrivance."

I checked the reference he quoted and the Shaikh Ibn Baz, rahimahullah, did not suggest that which is claimed about him. What the shaikh actually said was:

“9 – The position of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah: There is no affirmation except with a text and there is no negation except with a text.

Al-Sabuni then mentions may Allah guide him, to declare Allah transcendent beyond possessing body (al-jism), pupils (al-hadaqa), auditory meatus (al-simâkh), tongue (al-lisân), and larynx (al-hanjara), and this is not the position of Ahl al-Sunna but rather it is that of the scholars of condemned kalâm and their contrivance. For Ahl al-Sunnah do not negate for Allah except that which He negated for Himself and that which his Messenger negated for Him, nor do they affirm for Him except that which He affirmed for Himself and that which His Messenger affirmed for Him” [. . . and the sheikh continues to explain this principle quoting Imam Ahmad saying: He is not described except with that which He described Himself with or by that which His Messenger described Him with, the Book and the Hadith are not to be exceeded.]

Bro., can anybody say something, I mean why is GF Haddad not quoting the full text? Surely, the saying is wrong...but ...
