    Re: Imam Husain 'alaihis salam

Since Imam Rida and his poetry about Hasnain Kareemain is the topic:

Ma'doom na tha saayae (shadow) shahe thaqalain
Is noor ki jalwa gah thi dhaate Hasnain
Tamtheel ne is saae ke do hisse kiye
Aadhe se Hasan bane aur aadhe se Husain

  3. Ala Hazrat's Farsi elegy to Imam Husayn alayhisalam

    :s1:

And in the Hada'iq Shareef, hissa e davvam (part 2), p.32 (Lahore 1988) Ala Hazrat has an Persian elegy to Imam Husayn alayhisalam entitled:

Nafir e dil e taftgaan e Karb o Bala bar dar e Husayn Sayyid al Shuhada 'ala jaddah 'alayhi as-Salatu wa thanaa [The trumpet of the frail hearted of sadness and pain at the gate of the Master of the Martyrs upon him and his Ancestor be the loftiest of blessings and praise]

    This elegy begins:

Ya Shaheed e Karbala , Ya Dafa' e karb o bala
Gul rukhaa, shehzaada-ye gulgooN qabaa imdad kun!

Ay Husayn ay Mustafa ra raahat e jaan, noor e 'ayn
raahat e jaan noor e aynam deh bay-aa imdad kun!

    ..

O' Martyr of Karbala, O remover of sadness and pain [karb o bala]
Oh rose-cheeked one, prince of the rose-coloured cloak help!

Oh Husayn, O' comfort of the soul of the Prophet, O the light of his eyes
O comfort of my life. O' light of my eyes, come, give me, help!

    ...
This is a beautiful elegy as you can see and insha Allah I will translate all of it as an offering to the Prince of the Martyrs alayhisalatuwasalam and all of the martyrs of Karbala. May Allah raise us up in their group on the Day of Judgement. Amin.

It is good to see Sunnis commemorating the events of Imam Husayn's martyrdom everywhere. Yet it is extremely sad to see that apart from us (and the hypocritic majlises of the Rafidis) the other so-called Sunnis are quiet as usual. I have Sky TV and can get some Arabic channels free: not one programme has there been about Karbala!

To quote from Imam Hassan Raza Khan:

Ahle Bayt e Paak se gustaakhiyaan, bay-baakiyaaN
La'anatullah 'alaykum ay dushmanaan e Ahle Bayt!

Such insolence and bad manners towards the pure Ahlul Bayt!
Allah's curse be upon you, O' enemies of the Ahlul Bayt!

    Re: Imam Husain 'alaihis salam

Imam Jalaluddin Suyuti writes in his Tarikh al-Khulafa that once, in the presence of Umar bin Abdul Azeez radiyallahu anhu, someone called Yazeed as Ameer al-Mu'mineen. Hadrat Umar bin Abdul Azeez ordered that he be lashed 20 times.

I was reading in Raza-e-Mustafa that some non-Sunnis, covertly and overtly, speak in support of Yazeed, the Paleed. This is why I have posted from Imam Suyuti's book.

indeed, it is from the qaSidah mirajiyyah.

    but imam riDa says elsewhere:

kitney bikhrey huwey haiN madine ke phul
karbala! teri qismat pe lakhoN salaam

and in another (probably his son Hamid raza):

Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم mustafa ke bagh ke sab phul ayse haiN
jo bey pani ke tar rahtey hain, murjhaya nahiN kartey.

    ---
we ask Allah to forgive us for the sake of the karbala martyrs; and make our world, here and the hereafter a glorious successful one. ameen.

    Assalamu 'Alaikum
I read in the monthly Raza-e-Mustafa that Imam Rida says about the Shuhada of Karbala:

Jo ham bhi waan hote khaake gulshan
Lipat ke qadmon se lete utran
Magar karein kya naseeb mein to
Yeh naa muraadi ke din likhe the

But, it sounds as though this quatrain (or couplet) is from the Qasida-e-Mi'raj? Maybe someone can explain and translate.
