what their hearts hold is far worse!

this is true for both congress and bjp. one only needs to see nehru's sickening anti-Muslim stances and the letters he wrote secretly to sardar patel to observe it properly.

don't be fooled just because congress is more polished, can speak english, is sophisticated in speech, and dresses better, while the bjp is full of crass, ugly, stinking sadhus! they're both the same and only a foolish Muslim will consider the congress as a lesser evil than the bjp.

it really makes no difference if some ugly sadhwi openly hurls expletives at Muslims, or if the others like the congress don't.

the same applies to the democrat and republicans in the usa or the labors and the conservatives in the uk.

notwithstanding the fact that politics is also a whole lot about corruption and greed very simply put

I am seeing a lot of indian muslims, who are much better in character and resourcefulness than a lot of Pakistanis. Laid back cultured people.

the only thing plaguing the Indians is the proportion of wahabis and debos among them, while the Pakistanis are overwhelmingly Sunni. It hurts to see the state of such a resourceful group of people [ indian Muslims ] under the bulls-eye in india, day and night.

I am also seeing the trend among indian muslims of not blaming Pakistan for all their troubles.

so will they let the cows die a slow, painful death? i doubt.

most of the cows (even bullocks) are slaughtered in all states, albeit away from public places: such as in fields.

a lot of the meat eaters are non-Muslims, even Hindus.

and also a large number are smuggled cross-border, just before Eid ul Azha

    just wait.

if the new govt. withdraws subsidy to diesel and petrol, and some other PSUs, they will have enough trouble for six months.

by withdrawing subsidy to diesel - prices won't go down for sure; i am no economist but i think inflation will not go down either.

i don't see what the fuss is, on this issue at least. cow slaughter is banned in most states except 2. there's no way in hell they can ban slaughter of lambs or chicken or export of livestock to abattoirs. that would be shooting themselves in the foot.

and if they really are bent up on eradicating signs of Islam, Muslims should tell them to also demolish the taj mahal.

banners are already up in our city, 'they' are accumulating support for a bill to ban cow slaughter. if the attempt succeeds, vegetables will become dearer than they have ever been in India's history. classic 'shoot yourself in the foot'.

indian school text books have never been Muslim-friendly and honest about Islam and Muslims, right from the days of nehru. any Muslim who knows his deen and a bit of our history in india will vouch for that

essentially, passing the deen on to the coming generations is the job of Muslims themselves. otherwise their kids are going to grow up eulogizing akbar's deen-e-ilahi

but being prepared is required at all times...

[Anfal 8:60] And keep ready for them the maximum of forces you can and the maximum number of horses you can keep tethered, in order to instil awe in the hearts of those who are the enemies of Allah and who are your enemies, and in the hearts of some others whom you do not know; Allah knows them; and whatever you spend in Allah's cause will be repaid to you in full and you will never be in a loss.

Yes, time will tell. People are pinning their hopes on a person, who has literally sold away the interests of the common man to the capitalists. See Here

a man, who by sheer luck just happened to be in the right place in the right time: that is, in Gujarat which was already one of the richest states in India much before he emerged on the scene...

as they say: 'chalti bus mein chadh gaya..........'

and in such a huge country, with a billion plus voices, it will not be easy to keep even 5% happy.

we never know, and we pray that it may never happen; but as of now, there is no need for panic.

ruling a state is not the same as than ruling the country. being an efficient CM of a state (when he can directly control state officials) is not the same as being a PM where he has to work with state CMs. this article has some insightful comments. [read the second page]

in spite of majority in the upper house (lok sabha) bjp still has a few hurdles to enact laws of parliament and make constitutional amendments. see this.

even if some upbeat bjp-leaning commentators say that bjp has the numbers, it won't be easy as signing a paper or a dictator's decree.

modi won on a progress-governance platform and muted his hindutva clamour. and mainly on a capitalist agenda - big business was the financial backer of modi and that is why the index rose when he won.

modi will have to deliver on his promise of progress and improvement of living conditions, lowering inflation - controlling prices, bolstering growth, employment and infrastructure of such a huge country.

AND deftly manage his financial backers - the ambanis, tatas and adanis and other big players. walmart is raring to go and so are many international investors.

of course, the third angle to this is the hindutva platform that put all their eggs in one basket (sidelining old timers such as advani, joshi etc.)

    here, here and here.

    Assalam-o-alaikum,

    http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/home/lok-sabha-elections-2014/news/Nandita-Das-sculptor-Kapoor-speak-against-Modi-in-Stockholm/articleshow/34561769.cms

Including us, atleast there are still few who are concerned.

Anyways, what's done is done. More importantly, Now what?

Firstly, no doubt narendra modi single handedly took bjp into power, which shows he has very able resources (High level intellectuals). Now keeping this in mind on one hand we can expect good progress/development in india on the other hand this could turn into terror for minorities in a single instance.

Secondly, True strength for modi compaign was "Communication" while congress never made an effort to spread awareness of it's little accomplishments even AAP fell apart because of the single reason "Mis-communication" were as Modi's strategy worked beacuse it was based on Marketing and communication. In simple words "Spread a lie so much that it turns into a truth for people"

Lessons from Burma and Gujarat Massacre need to be learnt and re-iterated.

    Important Recommendations for Muslims

    1) Always try to be Connected, Never get isolated
Be it with your relatives, friends, acquaintances, may be they live in different cities or villages simple rule be connected with them from personal, political and social perspectives. Use every kind of social medium for this purpose

    2) Effort on an individual level is needed
Gone are the days when we can rely on local political parties or panchayats etc, On an individual level we need to be alert even minor changes if implemented should be noticed and taken into consideration. Please donot go with "Suni sunaayi khabar" take the effort to authenticate and then forward it to concerned authorities.

    3) Be alert and know when you may need help
Local muslim political parties need to work with local Ulama and keep a check on changes in policies and behaviours then forward relevant information to the laymen so that they are aware of the situation.

    4) Youth need to be proactive
Muslim youth need to put an extra effort, Form communities in your localities be well-informed and proactive.

Lastly, Always remember that we are like one body. It does not matter if we are a minority if we stay united we can turn into a Force.

    Salam.
