Brother Abdul Qadir, well said! All the problems we face today are in some or the other way are caused due to wahabism. The "terrorist" accusation is a typical example.

AbdalQadir time to move along! will check pm's.

I know I might sound manic depressive at times, but sometimes I think that EVERY SINGLE post-colonial post-modern problem that we Muslims face is rooted in wahabism.

One the one hand they want to rid the religion of bid3ah and have a zero tolerance of following the ways of other faiths and on the other hand it is none other than them who promote these kind of stunts which show how desperate they are to mingle with the kuffaar and win their approval, be it by participation in the Olympic games (and then protesting over how it is deliberately scheduled in Ramadan (2012 London) so Muslims will be at a disadvantage) or be it participation in these kinds of surveys and polls or be it treading all over Muslim pride and appealing to the UN or zakir naik delivering public press conferences alongside mahesh bhatt.

Now such problems have spilled outside of wahabism into Muslims in general.

  4. interesting. i agree actually although you will endlessly get Muslims quoting Michael Hart's, "The 100 Greatest Men in History". the shaykh makes a valid point.

Answered by Qazi ul-Quzzaat fil Hind, Taj al-Shari’ah Mufti Muhammad Akhtar Raza Khan al-Qadri al-Azhari (may Allah preserve him).

Question: There is a poll on the internet by the name of “Best of Men” in which the name of the Holy Prophet salaAllahualaihiwasallam is also mentioned and the name of four to five non-Muslims has also been included. Is it permissible to take part in such a voting?

Answer: The importunity of Muhabba(Love), Imaan(faith) and Shara’(Sacred Law) is that the Muslims i.e., the people of Love and the people of the Deen(the religion of Islam) should necessarily stay away from it. Our beloved Prophet salAllahualaihiwasallam is not a disputed personality that there is a need for voting. Whether one believes it or not, the Master, the Everlasting Comfort salAllahualaihiwasallam is superior to everybody, every creation, the entire universe and is the Soul of the entire universe.

Wo jo na they to kuch na tha

Wo jo na ho to kuch na ho

    Jaan hain wo jahan ki

    Jaan hai to jahan hai

    Before him nothing existed

    Without him nothing exists

He is the Soul of the universe

The universe exists with the Soul!!!
