Istigatha is the same as calling upon Laat and Uzzah

    As-Salamu `Alaykum wa Rahmatullah...
AlhamduliLlah, wa Sallallah wa Sallama wa Baraka `Ala Sayyidina Rasulillah, wa Alih wa Sahbih wa Man Walah, wa Ba`du:

Firstly, they believed Laat and `Uzzah had power to harm/benefit apart from the will of Allah which is pure Kuff and none of us believe that.

Secondly, even if they did not believe the above, Allah did not permit them to use the idols as means to Allah, since they were not means to Allah. Hence, the verse "Man Anzalallahu Biha Min Sultan". They were disregarding revelation for what they learnt from their forefathers which was pure hearsay and was not based in revelation from Allah. Without revelation, how does one know something is a means to Allah?

Compare the above to Sayyiduna Muhammad sallallah `alayh wa sallam's case. Indeed Allah has said "Ittaqullah wabtaghu ilayhil wasilah", and the famous Ahadith e.g. when the blind sahabhi was told to make the Dua including "Ya Muhammad" and other cases of Sahabah after the passing to the barzakh of al-Habib salwat Allah wa salamuh `alayh. Thus, Allah has clearly revealed to us, through the Hadith which we are commanded to follow in the Qur'an (Ati` ar-Rasul) that Sayyiduna Rasul Allah sallallah `alayh wa sallam is a means to Allah, as opposed to the accursed idols of Jahiliyyah which was nonsense, based on whims and desires as opposed to revelations and Kufr.

I'm really confused on the subject of Istigtha and have read many articles in support of the sunni viewpoint. I came across the following clip which draws parallels between the calling upon awliya and the makkan mushrikeen:

I'm particularly confused how the makkan mushrikeen too, supposedly believed that the sole benefactor is Allah and used Laat and Uzaah as a means.

    Jazakallah
