Jonathan Brown describes himself as a Muslim scholar who has opted for the approach of orientalist academics.

He is therefore not a scholar with a traditional curriculum in Sunni Islamic universities.

Unfortunately, by publishing some works like "Misquoting Muhammed" he has made mistakes that must be taken into account, GF Haddad has refuted some things that have nothing to do with Ahl-as-sunnah wal Jama'a.

In the same way Ustadh Abdus Shakur Brooks also rebuked his words concerning, the scribe and Companion of the Prophet, Mu'awiyah (RadhiAllahu 'anhu)

Brown is a conspiracy theorist par excellence himself. His book "The Canonization of Bukhari and Muslim" is chalk-full of them. He is also an urban-myth factory on Muslim history. No wonder he is a favorite of atabek and co. fans.

As they say, swines of a wash grunt the same hogwash.

Those who might be interested may read g.f. haddad's excellent refutation of that screed here.

Not when you combine it with other stuff he's said.
Guys like him, Zaid Shakir, Humza Yusuf are very clever.
But sometimes they will say open kufr.

To me anyone who has read the "Study Quran" and praises it, while calling for Muslims in the West to unite with Wahhabis, other sects, religions etc, has no credibility whatsoever.

Too many Muslims get fooled by these guys. There is no need to have husn e zann for them.

This is a very flimsy basis for takfeer.

In this article Brown clearly mentions that his opinion is that non Muslims who have heard of Islam but still reject it can go to Paradise. He has also previously praised the so called “Study Quran”.

This man is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), and is a professor at Georgetown University.
For anyone familiar with politics and history, they will know the importance of these institutions and how secret societies behind the scenes actually run them.

One major goal of those in power is to abolish religion altogether. People like Brown and other pseudo academics, and people like Humza Yusuf are all being used to push the idea of perennialism.

This may sound like “conspiracy theory” but I advise brothers on here to look up information regarding the CFR, globalists, Trilateral Comission, Skull and Bones of Yale University, and Freemasonry. (Rashid Rida and Muhammad Abduh were both open Freemasons)
The works of Caroll Quigley and Antony Sutton will help a lot in understanding what is actually going on and are vital reading for any Sunni Muslim living in the West.

We must warn against these idiots. They are a global threat to the religion.
