Ahsan has buckled after the protest. The Ulama met Liaqat and his cronies at Westgate in 2021 regarding Irfan. Mahroof turned up to the Mawlid a day later at Westgate and hosted Irfan as keynote speaker. Ahsan held hands with Irfan during the Julus. Ahsan has posted the following on FB 'I wish to clarify that Jamiyat Tabligh-Ul-Islam (JTI) does not support or condone any statements or ideologies that are contrary to our constitution. I would like to reassure the scholars and general public of the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jama’ah, that we are taking the necessary steps to ensure that all our scholars, trustees and board members adhere to our values and mission as declared within our constitution. We regret any confusion or harm that may have been caused. We remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting the creed of Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jama’ah and to serving the needs of our community. I thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work to maintain our commitment to promote the creed of the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jama’ah. Jumuah at The Central Mosque will be led by myself for the foreseeable future.'
People are seeking the views of Shaykh Asrar, Shaykh Monawwar, Pir Saqib et al on Irfan Shah. Rightly so. But I want to know the views of organisations too. Dawat e Islami Suffat ul Islam Jamia al Karam Sultan Bahu Nerian sharif Mohaddis e Azam Mission Please.
https://sunniport.com/index.php?threads/the-errors-of-irfan-shah.15410/ --- I second aH and say a questionnaire should be drawn up, similar to the Minahji Fata Morgana istifta, and UK ulama will be asked about Iran Shah.
can someone get a clarification from shaykh asrar, whether this dig is aimed at shahid ali? --- i am told JTI masjid imam is pir mahroof sb's son - ahsan shah. ===== shaykh asrar should now speak up about irfan shah - what is his view? does shaykh asrar consider irfan shah's excesses to be pardonable? does he consider irfan shah a sunni still? is the removal of shahid ali justified from the masjid? we probably have to list a number of questions on iran shah's mistakes and seek responses from ulama on where they stand. we cannot act like the indian judiciary (kangaroo courts) where judgements are issued on the basis of "sealed envelopes". if ulama choose to ignore - and let the public remain in confusion, like the tahirul issue, they will be remembered as people who did not fulfil their duty. if ulama had taken a firm stance against tahirul when they could, the leeway would not have widened to a big street - on which erstwhile critics are proudly strutting on it and smiling garlanding tahirul, a well known and oft-shamed liar. ---- the public was once fooled when irfan shah gave the testimony for the (sealed cover) 'retraction' of pir nasiruddin. should we fall for it again? if a scholar stands up for another's blunder and says: "i have spoken to him in private, it has been resolved", can we accept that in matters of public interest? ---- ولا ترى للأعـادي قـط ذلاً فإن شماتـة الأعـداء بـلاء
This is a travesty, so much for the constitution - nobody seems to adhere to it and the public remains oblivious to its contents and significance. The longer this sham persists, the deeper the shia infiltration, unfortunately. The sunni public of the UK (particularly West Yorkshire, Bradford) should digest the following: 1. A Shia cleric continues to receive protocol from JTI committee/trustees even after his transgressions are clear for all to see. 2. Employing such an individual violates the constitution which was drawn up from the very inception of the masjid which begs the question, what purpose does it serve? 3. The masjid was built with public (sunni) funds and has been maintained for all these years by the same people. That money is being squandered on people who have openly forsaken the tenets inscribed in the constitution. 4. JTI have since suspended a sunni Imam indefinitely for bringing the above points to the attention of the public.
it is pertinent to remember a hadith with varying wording from many sahabah, about a person who is the imam and his followers dislike him. there are wordings of la'anah on such a man - and other warnings such as: 'the prayer will not go beyond his ears or above his head'. meaning it won't be accepted. [some chains are hasan, some are weak]. and ulama say that one of the valid reasons for dislike is when the imam is a fasiq or a mubtadiy (which is actually fisq in aqidah). it is a well known mas'alah in fiqh. also: tirmidhi, #358:
JTI have a responsibility to their members and to the wider Sunni awaam to clarify how Irfan Shah's presence at their affiliated mosques is not a violation of their constitution. If Imam Shahid's speeches are bringing JTI into disrepute then how can Irfan Shah's rafdhi influenced speeches be seen as acceptable when these violate their own constitution. It is incumbent on the trustees of JTI to either change the constitution and give the public reasons why or explain how Irfan Shah's presence does not violate their own constitution.
whatever reasons they may provide, it is obvious that doing it now is because he led the protests and he is a soft target. young man - recently in the news as he has rubbed a group of sunnis on the wrong side, no backing or following. let us drop him and send a message. bullies and tyrants always go for the easy kill. you can expect character assassination of shahid in the coming days. sunnis should be alert and challenge them on any accusation they may make: do you have proof? can you swear in the name of Allah that what you say is truth? ---- anyway, let them give their reasons. let us see.
How does boycotting JTI work in terms of practicallity as they have around 17 Masajid across Bradford and also have influence outside of Bradford too, as well as abroad? Absolutely, but the demographic whose minds need persuading the most are mainly the elders and murids. The youth are, for the most part, apathetic to these types of things and just see it as "Molvi politics", so Ulama need to be vocal in Panjabi and Urdu as well as English. The other two organisations with a reasonable presence in the city are Dawat e Islami and Suffa tul Islam so, ideally, they should also get involved.
sunni public should ask for accountability. how much money was collected. how much was paid. how much was paid to irfan shah. how much was paid to mahroof shah and the rest.
in the same vein, shouldn't there also be a mechanism by which imams and employees can be removed? i don't know if UK has "at-will" provisions in employment laws like the US (where either party can terminate their side of the contract at will, without any justification or reason) those who terminated Shahid Ali, probably won't (or shouldn't) be so dumb to cite the protest as a reason of termination (on paper). if they do cite the protest as a reason, i don't know how suing would work in the UK, but Shahid should surely be having some legal provisions to peaceful protest and voicing disagreement under UK laws. it would be nice to know what reasons they gave for his termination
https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/07614419/charges The charges on the buildings owned by JTI. Are these buildings currently used as places of worship. Is the Lumb Lane property not the Zawiya of Mahroof and his Tariqa?
Junaid was removed as a trustee from Ghamkol a few years ago. Both Sufi Abdullah and Javid had been Trustees for many years. Javid had ran the Funeral Service from the Masjid for many years.
May Allah bless imam shahid and others I live in the UK but not too sure how the situation works in terms of getting rid of specific people from JTI. Presumably the masaajid are owned by JTI and JTI is run as a charity under UK regulations. As a result, there are certain legal obligations that the charity will need to comply with and there must be a mechanism by which trustees and chairman can be removed. If so, does anyone know what such mechanisms are and how can we take advantage of them to: 1. Remove the bad eggs from trusteeship and install sunni trustees 2. Following installation of sunni trustees, to give imam shahid his job back, get rid of irfan Shah and anyone else of his ilk Whilst the above happens (if possible, I don't know the rules so just speculating), I would suggest sunnis are alerted as to: 1. Which masaajid are run by JTI 2. The need to prevent any donations to those trustees until they're removed 3. The need to avoid prayer behind the non sunni imams there although prayer can be done behind the sunni ones, if any. Although donation should not be made
What exactly has Mahroof Hussain achieved in over 50 years at JTI. How many Ulama has JTI created in all of them years? How many English speaking Ulama has Mahroof Hussain employed over the 50 years? There are 17 Masajid in Bradford ran by JTI which were funded by working class Sunni Muslims in Bradford from the 70’s onwards. Mahroof Hussain and Liaqat need to immediately resign as trustees of JTI. What can they contribute to Muslims in Bradford in 2023? Ahsan should also come forward and put forward a proposal why he should remain as a trustee of JTI. The Sunnis of Bradford need to wake up and take control of their local Masajid and break away from JTI.
