    yes of course.

and fortunately, you have a very good scholar teaching it. i listened to three or four clips (intend to do the rest, in sha'Allah) and found these to be very useful for beginners. if i had time i would try to translate it as annotations to usul shashi.

    shaykh fazl subhan qadri:
    https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTsVYoRQZZOYRk1NVt8IDEnxK2TyQVpbH

[i took a look at other playlists of the user and he has all sorts of videos. this is not an endorsement of that channel. i wish sunnis create a channel with videos of the shaykh linked. there is one qadria channel but doesn't seem to have this set of 33 videos.]

    good copy of usul shashi:

in lubab v1p116: the same mas'alah:

without an understanding how a mursal narration is treated by hanafis and shafiyis, you will not appreciate this proof. so you need a good background on usul hadith.

on the next page, he mentions a number of names - ibn abi arubah, abu awanah, sa'id ibn abi bashir, qatadah - without a good understanding of rijal and tabaqat and the status and standing of scholars, you will not be able to appreciate the importance of the report or why it is given more weight.

i am sorry - i am no expert; i am another student like you - but i wanted to highlight the difficulties of this task.

certainly tajrid is also a good reference to look at. but without a sound grounding in usul of hadith and usul of fiqh, you will not be able to understand the why.

for example, i just opened volume one and on a random page landed here:

does laughing in Salat invalidate wudu?

just because one loves horse riding, he cannot simply mount a horse and try it for himself. it takes instruction by an expert and perhaps years of practice to become a good rider.

it appears that you missed my other post - if you do not have those basic qualifications, you will not understand the reasoning behind hanafi positions.

it is good to ride ambition - but the tall and hard wall of reality of 'qualifications' stands in between.
how will you understand this without going thru the list i mentioned in the previous thread?
if you want to examine only to appreciate the wisdom behind hanafi rulings - the book al-lubab i have linked is a good resource for our positions. and if you want an in-depth analysis of EVERY mas'alah, you must enroll in an usul course and spend years and do a lot of reading.

i should have prefaced the post with my ability, my apologies. I am not going through any curriculum or anything like that. I bought Quduri a while back, and am going through the Arabic on that.

jzk. al-lubab seems big at the moment but Ma'ani al Aathar seems great.

I have read selections of Bahar e Shariat. It is great but not what I'm looking for in this case. What I mean is something which goes through why we prefer our opinion over others. Would al-Tajrid by Quduri be good to look at?

    jzk, will take a look.

as said above sorry I didn't clarify. I'm just going through the copy of Quduri I have alongside some lessons on it.

this is a bit unusual. if you're studying the quduri, then you’ve likely already completed usul al-shashi, or you're reading it alongside quduri.

if you can read urdu, i would strongly recommend manzur al-hawashi sharh usul al-shashi — it contains some very useful notes. the same author has also written a sharh of quduri called manzur al-zaruri, starting from kitab al-buyu'. i haven’t read it myself, but i assume it would also be a valuable resource.

in my opinion, beginners should first study the funoon in their native language, rather than spending excessive time struggling with arabic grammar. i don’t mean that one should completely rely on translations or native-language shuruh, but rather combine them with reading the arabic text to gain a deeper understanding.

also, i believe that even at an advanced level, one never completely stops referring to dictionaries and nahw wa sarf books — although the need gradually tapers down.

Try Usul as-Shashi. It is suitable for beginners and will enhance appreciation of legal theory and relative superiority of Hanafi rulings over that of other madhabs.

You can download copies with diacritical marks. Colour bushra versions are available. Or you can try its sharh in Urdu, some of which come with tarkeeb.

also what do you mean by 'defend'?
if you mean you need proof from hadith and kitab for our positions - bahar e shariat is a wonderful resource; the hadith of ahkam are listed under each chapter.

there are many. zabidi's two volume work is an extensive reference. the books of takhrij like nasb al-raayah or tahawi's ma'ani al aathar and mushkil al aathar.

    As salaamu alaykum

I'm currently learning Arabic and am going through Quduri and breaking the Arabic grammar and vocab down using a dictionary. I'm looking for something which defends the Hanafi madhab next.

Can anyone recommend a book which defends the Hanafi madhab through our daleel used and our usul, however also has a good amount of harakat?

I hope that's not too big of an ask, not sure if anything like that exists.

    jzk
