Social media is an incredibly nasty animal. Once you click 'send' or 'post' or 'upload', don't expect anything to ever be safe again. Let this be a lesson to young folks as well as scholars. You can be forgiven by Allah or the person you transgressed but never by social media. This particular mail could be sent by any opportunist irfani, tafzili, rafidi, qadiani, devbandi, wahabi, christian, jew, atheist, anyone at all, who couldn't care less about undermining a Muslim's efforts against those who blaspheme against the Prophet 3alaihis salam as long as they launched an attack on someone they don't like.
Not only that, but the society themselves will probably be in trouble now which was probably the goal of the person who sent the email anyway. In most UK universities, ISoc (Islamic Society) usually have more members, and are more popular amongst students. They generally are able to attract those who do not yet have an inclination towards any sect due to ignorance / lack of education — similar to the actual Deo / Wahabi institutes themselves. Madinah Societies must compete with ISoc in what is really a losing battle in putting on events and propagating the maslak to young Muslims. The Sh. Asrar event was hugely successful and perhaps the most successful event for any Madinah Society across the country. Unfortunately, I have no doubts the email will now have consequences which will only hold us back further.
Whoever emailed the uni is a very sad person. What's done is done. Sunnis shouldn't be vying to bring our own ulama down like this.
This has been doing the rounds on social media since last night. I looked up Martin Blake and he is on this website https://www.estates.manchester.ac.uk/services/estatessafety/contact-us/
