It seems that Daniel mostly has a problem with: 1. A previous statement 2. The signatories to the current statement 3. The concept of affirming the constitution in the current statement Whilst 1 and 2 are fine, I don't think they concern the content of the current statement as published. And no.3 seems to be a misreading of the current text which states they recognise that the lgbt community has constitutional rights - acknowledging the existence of a fact of law isn't affirming whether the law should exist in the first place. I don't know if I'm missing something here. The biggest issue is the signatories, not the content. But using the content to attack the signatories seems like a stretch- problem being that if you cry wolf at everything, no one pays attention when you're crying wolf at an actual wolf i.e. people may disregard his future critiques because this one doesn't seem to stack up.
Good imams were tricked. Who tricked them? The same ppl trying to trick them now w/ this 2023 statement. The believer is not stung from the same hole twice!I'll post a breakdown of the 2023 statement tomorrow inshaAllah. In the meantime, watch: https://t.co/sQ0Frj0cYc— Daniel Haqiqatjou (@Haqiqatjou) May 23, 2023 Some other interesting Tweets: المقطع المنتظر: أين تذهب زكاة أموال المسلمين في اميركا. الاستاذ دانيال يقوم بفضح هذه الع@صابة. ساعدوا في النشر والتحذير. الرابط التويت الاول 👇👇 pic.twitter.com/PayaMsI2fg— ألسنا على الحق (@AlasnaHaq) May 26, 2023 There are so many reasons why the "Harmony with Qawm Lut" document is illegitimate. But consider this:The Muslim religious scholars who have signed on to "Navigating Differences" indicate their support for all "constitutional rights" granted by the US Supreme Court to LGBT…— Daniel Haqiqatjou (@Haqiqatjou) May 28, 2023
look at the next sentence. "In America, individuals are at liberty to pursue happiness as each sees fit, it is our cherished political right."Oh really? Anyone can pursue happiness as they see fit?The significance of this statement is that this was the debate in the US for...— Daniel Haqiqatjou (@Haqiqatjou) May 23, 2023 the past 5 years at that point. Do LG-TVHD+ have the liberty to get married and enjoy the same rights as others? Majority of the country said no. All Muslims said no. These were the major court battles happening in the middle of the last decade. But then, these imams come and...— Daniel Haqiqatjou (@Haqiqatjou) May 23, 2023 side with Qawm Lut. YES you should have the same rights! And as Muslims, we "must respect" the equality of LG-TVHD+ under "the laws of the land," i.e., the pro-Qawm Lut laws that the liberal government under Obama was busy writing at that time.So this paragraph, in one fell...— Daniel Haqiqatjou (@Haqiqatjou) May 23, 2023 swoop, neutralizes the Muslims who oppose LG-TVHD+ normalization by telling them they are wrong: the Quran has nothing to say about what non-Muslims do, so you have no reason to oppose it. The statement wraps up the core batil with many truths. Yes, Muslims condemn a random person picking up a gun and killing people. They could have left it at that. But they didn't want to waste this "golden opportunity" to push their core liberal batil. Which is what?— Daniel Haqiqatjou (@Haqiqatjou) May 23, 2023 Muslims adhere to the "strict Abrahamic morality..." Side note: they were pushing the Abrahamic Religion as far back as 2016. Look at the first two signatures. But more problematic: Where does Quran say that its injunctions only apply to Muslims?? Where do they get this from?— Daniel Haqiqatjou (@Haqiqatjou) May 23, 2023 They cite la ikraha fil-din in the same way that the hardcore liberal secularists do. Islam only applies to Muslims! Here are some points that Daniel has made regarding the document and the people that are behind it: THREAD: The Dawah Mafia has been pushing imams to sign onto their recent attempt to whitewash their LG-TVHD+ normalization with a statement called"Navigating Differences"I've been asked to explain the problems w/ this statement bc it seems ok. It absolutely is NOT. But...— Daniel Haqiqatjou (@Haqiqatjou) May 23, 2023 before I explain the problems, we need to go back to another statement on LG-TV these imams forced onto the Muslim community back in 2016.You know the last time I advised imams not to sign trash? It was when this garbage was going around in 2016.https://t.co/4GqzVSRHwf pic.twitter.com/7lTOtAhlLn— Daniel Haqiqatjou (@Haqiqatjou) May 23, 2023 The pattern is the same, whether the 2016 statement or this new 2023 statement. You have wolves in sheep's clothing (liberals dressed as imams) convincing traditional imams to ally with open liberals and to endorse pro-liberal values disguised as Islamic.— Daniel Haqiqatjou (@Haqiqatjou) May 23, 2023 So whats the problem w/ this 2016 statement?Look closely & think. It is not easy to see, but that's not because there isn't a HUGE violation of Islam in there. That is how the psy-op works. It is carefully crafted to make religious Muslims miss what's in front of their eyes.— Daniel Haqiqatjou (@Haqiqatjou) May 23, 2023 Here is the problem, all in this paragraph. pic.twitter.com/mPgCl0F3EQ— Daniel Haqiqatjou (@Haqiqatjou) May 23, 2023
Do you have a summary for those of us who don't have 3 hours to listen to Daniel? I can understand a critique of the signatories themselves but what does he have to say about the statement- what's wrong with it?
After many weeks, several prominent scholars in America and Canada have jointly written a statement of monumental importance entitled: “Navigating Differences: Clarifying Sexual and Gender Identity in Islam." Public discourse on sexuality over the past few decades has presented challenges to faith communities. Today, Islamic sexual and gender ethics are at odds with certain recently popular societal views, causing tension for Muslims between their religious beliefs and societal expectations. At the same time, public disapproval of LGBTQ practices, beliefs, and advocacy is increasingly met with charges of intolerance and unwarranted accusations of bigotry. More troubling still, there is an increasing push to promote LGBTQ-centric values among children through legislation and regulations, disregarding parental consent and denying both parents and children the opportunity to express conscientious objection. Such policies subvert the agency of Muslim parents to teach their children their religiously grounded sexual ethics, violate their constitutional right to freely practice their religion, and contribute to an atmosphere of intolerance toward faith communities. We are Muslim scholars and preachers representing a diverse range of theological schools. Below is our collective, non-partisan articulation of Islam’s position on sexual and gender ethics. As a religious minority that frequently experiences bigotry and exclusion, we reject the notion that moral disagreement amounts to intolerance or incitement of violence. We affirm our right to express our beliefs while simultaneously recognizing our constitutional obligation to exist peacefully with those whose beliefs differ from ours.
