I have seen "poetic" Urdu translations of the holy Qur'an serialised in some of the reputed Ahl us-Sunnah periodicals. So I presume that the editors of those magazines, who may have been ulemas, would have deemed that okay as long as its form and limitations were understood. I have seen some well-regarded works of fiqh & ahadith written in the form of poems.
someone has translated Quran Al-Karim in urdu rhymes, is it permissible? rooh al-quran personally i don't think that the translator would have done justice because his aim would have been to bring translation within meters, thus ignoring critical places.
