AbdalQadir time to move along! will check pm's.

That's old and known news about the Habaib and other Arab and non-desi shuyukh not taking any sides on the deobandi issue. Not all of them know about their deviance.

Meeting with Habib Umar ibn Hafiz (Allah preserve him)

Habib Umar informed me how he spent some time in India with the Jama'ah Tabligh. He said, his father Shaykh Abu Bakr ibn Salim had close links with the head of the Jama'ah Tabligh in India, Shaykh Muhammad Yusuf al-Kandahlawi (Allah have mercy on them both). He said his father was also in contact with the great Muhaddith of the Subcontinent, Shaykh Muhammad Zakariyya al-Kandahlawi (Allah have mercy on him). The meeting ended with me gifting Habib Umar some books, including the two volume Hadith text of I'la al-Sunan by Imam Zafar Ahmad Uthmani.

Dinner and meeting with Habib Ali al-Jifri (may Allah preserve him)

We discussed many important matters such as: The importance of unity and the unfortunate Deobandi/Barelwi split. He stated that he has respect for the scholars of both Schools and that something definitely needs to be done in order to bring these two Schools close to one another. Habib Ali suggested that young Ulama from both camps should get together and formulate a plan on how to bring the youngsters close to one another. He mentioned that it will be difficult for the elders of both communities to do away with their differences, thus it was the duty and responsibility of the younger generation to take on this important task upon themselves.

He mentioned to me how his teacher Habib Umar's father had close contacts with the Ulama of Deoband. He said Habib Umar's father, Shaykh Abu Bakr ibn Salim, was very close to the Amir of Tabligh in India, the late Shaykh Yusuf al-Kandahlawi, the author of Hayat al-Sahaba (Allah have mercy on them both). He stated that when Shaykh Yusuf was compiling his masterpiece work, Hayat al-Sahaba (Lives of the Companions), Shaykh Abu Bakr was with him and actually took the honour of compiling the index for this auspicious work. The edition with Shaykh Abu Bakr Salim's writing is still in existence, Habib Ali said. Habib Ali also mentioned that Shaykh Abu Bakr ibn Salim was a friend of Shaykh Muhammad Zakariyya al-Kandahlawi (Allah have mercy on him), and that Habib Umar himself travelled to India with the Jama'ah of Da'wa and Tabligh some years ago.

    Wadood is right.

Many dis-info agents around. And we should be wary of this.

Irfan Alawi is a dis-info agent who relays info from one group to another causing fitnah.

    lahawla walaa quwwata illa billah.

What follows is a summary of the key points mentioned in Sayyid Salim bin Umar bin Muhammad bin Salim bin Hafizh's (Habib Umar's son) visit to Bangladesh where he partook in the annual Tabligh Jamat ijtima. It is one of the clearest examples of Dar al Mustafa's strong links, praise, reliance and appreciation of Tablighi Jamat.

Delivered Thursday 7th February after Salat Az-Zuhr to the students of Dar al Mustafa:

He travelled to Bangladesh with Jamat memebers from Yemen's city port Hudayda. The group was headed by one 95+ year old Muhammad Abdul Wahabb who had spent 6 years from the end of Muhammad Ilyas Kandahlavi's (notorious founder of Tabligh Jamat) life with him.

Sayyid Salim mentioned that in Tariqa the Jamat is mostly Qadiri, that they are people of Tariqa and are Ahl as Sunnah wal Jama'ah, but hide their outward links with Tasawuff so as to be accessible to all.

He then mentioned that Kandahlavi wrote Hayatus Sahaba and Sayyid Salim's grandfather (Al-Habib Muhammad bin Salim bin Hafiz rahmatullah alayh) wrote the chapter headings and arranged the chapters in the book and that the Tabligh still have a copy mentioning this to this day.

His grandfather spent 7 months in Nizam ud Din, the world headquarters of Tabligh in India as well as visiting Pakistan and Bangladesh.

That letters of correspondence between his grandfather and Kandahlavi are still kept by them.

He mentioned that the ijtima is 3 days and centres on building Iman, Ikhlas nearness to Allah and D'awa

550 Jamats left Hudayda and 200,000 left Bangladesh too various parts of the world after the Ijtima.

That 7 million people normally attend, but due to rain this year it was a 2 day event with 3 million.

He attended that Majlis as Shura with the grandson of Yusuf Kandahlavi and that it is a gathering based on the Sunnah.

That he came across 5 Indonesian Dar al Mustafa graduates at the Ijtima.

All types of people attend Shiah, Sufi, Takfiri and no ikhtilaf is discussed. People go out on tabligh and over time become rectified.

That his father, Habib Umar attened 13 years ago and that before Sayyid Salim left for Bangladesh his father told him to look at the systematic layout of the ijtima and notice how it organisationally resembles the Hajj of the past.

He then mentioned that Kandahlavi founded the Tabligh to revive the Muslim Ummah.

That people from all across the world attend with various of knowledge from laymen to Muftis.

That he was asked to speak to the Arab delegates on the second day and spoke to them about the need for D'awah and avoiding differences.

He said that Bangladesh is mostly Ahl as Sunnah wal Jamah but there now Salafis and Takfiris there also.

At the end of the gathering he mentioned how the Dar al Mustafa graduates he met seemed unable to transfer the manhaj they had learnt in the Dar into practical teaching. Many students could not even convey and explain basic concepts such as Qurb ilAllah and Akhlaq nor can they explain the Ba Alawi Tariqa and seem to know little about it.

That students need to be more aware of other sufi orders amd groups in their areas and how to deal with them.

He was asked what are the benefits of Tablighs 6 points to which he replied it is a Manhaj of Ahl as Sunnah like the Ba Alawiyya emphasising Ilm Suluk D'awah Wala and Amal.

He said people ask is Habib Umar ok with us going on gusht with Tabligh Jamat - to which he replied - what kind of question is that.

Sayyid Hashmi Mian said something similar:' We may have to sit with all concerned parties when need arises. So in the matter of Palestine and other international issues that affect muslims we may have to deal with government representatives, in the matters that affect Indian muslims such as riots, Muslim Personal Law, waqf etc. we will deal with all groups that the Indian Constitution considers as Muslims, whether they be Wahabis or Deobandies, IF NEED BE. But in affairs of creed and intra-sunni issues we will never compromise with the deviants nor seek their help. Zero-tolerance of deviancy does'nt mean that if you discover that the person on the adjacent berth is a Wahabi, you jump off the train!' (Note: These words are not verbatim.)

Can the pledge not be interpreted in this light i.e political unity ? In any case, the wordings have enough ambiguity and loopholes like here:
" Saying this, we do not deny the reality of legitimate differences and approaches, nor the passionate advocacy of specific positions based on those differences. Such issues should be rightfully discussed observing established rules of debate."

That is a unity for security and safety. Not one on creed. Big difference.

What about the Ash'aris of Iraq uniting with the anthropomorphist Hanbalis (represented by Sharif Abu Ja'far) to put an end to highway brigandry and brothels during that time?

This article shows that these people are desperate. They feel threatened by mere oral conversations. They haven't been debated yet on the ground.

May be Sunni 'ulama ought to now debate and defeat this group on the ground. Its about time.

I challenge deenport to prove that our Sunni Imams in history united with Ahl al Bid'a anytime, anywhere to hold on to the rope of unity, depicted in that picture.

afifi akiti has signed the pledge of ignorance as well.

Basically, refuting wahabi offshoots as deobandis is not a hallmark of the proper Sunni youth. Its counter-productive to bringing Muslim diverse opinion together.

Shaykh Yaqoubi has clearly stated in his leeds message on the topic of kufr in democracy, that Sunni Muslims are being confronted by deviants. He never said we should not refute deviants.

Even if it is about the dignity of our HabeebAllah salAllahu ' alayhi wa alihi wa sallam. So, how to do counter people like Hassoun, fake mufti of syria?

We should ask deenport, what affairs are not in order among Sunni Muslims? The faith of Sunni Muslims has no turmoil in it. If Sunni Muslims are not practicing, then thats their problem, but Sunni Faith is immutable.

Basically, what he is trying to say is that, the Sunni Muslims are not in order because their present immutable faith does not allow them to do this below:
