Assalam `alaikum, It is heartening to note the ala hadrat section. Since this sub section encourages to ask questions, I would like to raise this issue. No doubt, this umma, especially from the sub-continent are indebted to ala hadrat’s works. Many neutral bros, who though acknowledge his works say ‘… but he passed the kufr fatwa on the top deobandi alims’. I believe this is the greatest objection from the sunni scholars of levant on ala hadrat, who consider both doebandis and barelwis from ahl as sunnah. I am intrigued to find more, for my benefit as well for those muslims who abstain from ala hadrat works due to this ‘takfir’. How could a great scholar/faqih do takfir of those people consider as top ulema from deoband. What prompted him and what is the sequence that led a scholar like Ahmed rida to take this extreme step. Hope this could serve as a ref for other bros, when confronted with this issue. Especially while some bros from the deobandi affiliated schools try and give various explanations for those statements considered objectionable by barelwis. Wassalam, Jamsheed
