Bismillah... Sidi, what if we recite Salawat afterward, as is done in Tarim... Does it have no Barakah?
In Jordan, there has been the traditional norm of the traditional city dwellers and the bedouin to begin good tasks with salawaats. These include retailing, travelling, eating, all you can think of. I have seen it, first hand, and I do it too. Its done in the traditional Sunni Arab world.
at this event yesterday, the lion of ahlus sunnah - pir sayyid irfan mash'hadi - mentioned the hadith that if the praise of Allah and salawat upon the prophet sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam are not done before a good act, there will be no barakah in it. he said the hadith is in jami' saghir. walHamdulillah. --- the reason i asked the question in the first place was because wahabis/deobandis can't stop whining at the salawat before the adhan. do they not consider it a good act in light of the above?
if someone can help me regarding the above, that would be great but meanwhile, this is related: http://www.abc.se/~m9783/k/slw_e.html
