Shahid Ali continues public spat with Shaykh Asrar

All part of 'cancel culture'. Don't bother to investigate or elicit the context, just demand 'clarification' and 'retraction'. They cannot fathom why they then get accused of 'spreading misinformation'.

 

That interview is old and until Imam Shahid brought it up, where was the fitna? Do you really think because of Shaykh Asrar, people are praying in the mosques of deviants.
Yes Imam Shahid is in his right to ask but why can't he do it in private?

No....not exactly. Otherwise you'd have to say the same to some Sunni mashaykh in the Arab world who allow this. Not that I allow it.

Furthermore, the istiftaa/questionnaire given to Mufti Fida Husayn Ridawi, Mufti Rashid Mahmood Ridawi, Mufti Aslam Raza (of Dubai), Mawlana Mufti Shafi ur Rahman Qadri Ridawi Bihari and other ulama was not necessarily representative of Shaykh Asrar's opinions but were inadvertent misrepresentations of Shaykh Asrar's opinions, even though I disagree with Shaykh Asrar on this. I also take issue with their swift declaration of Sullah Kulliya

 

Some of the stuff being said by Shahid Ali... he is in his rights to ask.

The ummah channel example and using the fiqh justifications were quite bad by Shaykh Asrar. It would open doors of fitnah and for the sunni public to be misguided to follow such rulings

 

We know he has been refuting deos. That's not the issue. Sheikh Asrar does seem very laxed with some of his opinions. He defo needs to retract his ummah channel answer. That is just opening the gates to misguidance for the awaam.

 

Imam Shahid has released a book about the differences between Sunnis and deos. Not made the impact it should have because since then Imam Shahid has just become more interested in refuting Sunni scholars. We keep shooting ourselves in the foot and inadvertently allow the very people that we claim to be warning against an opportunity to make us look like we are the problem. A really sad state of affairs

 

If Shaykh Asrar makes a video in response, no doubt there will be counter video as Shahid Ali will make a counter video as he revels in doing this. He can't debate without a script.

Best if Shaykh Asrar ignores him, everyone knows Shaykh Asrar is no Sulah Kulli and has been refuting Deobandis for the last 2 decades publicly. He shouldn't bring himself down to Shahid Ali's level.

 

And what will happen is Shaykh Asrar will reply and give some technical responses. The public will not understand and say forget it, rather listen to Mufti Menk and co. The deos will use it to their advantage too, as they have been doing recently.

They think they are doing a service to the public or 'Sunniyat' but they don't read the room or understand the needs of our time.

Really sad state of affairs and to be honest it's quite disheartening.

 

This is just so petty and ridiculous. What's the point of creating a public circus when things could be addressed behind closed doors.
