Assalamu alaikum, I havent seen the Vendetta film, although it does have a very high rating on imdb so i assume it is quite good. About the other film about Imam Ghazzali, I saw a free screening of it in Birmingham last year in the museum. The director of it also came and answered questions people had after the documentary ended. It was quite good overall, but its been a long time since i saw it so i cant really remember that much, except that i remember that it was good.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0439430/ Has anyone seen the above film about Imam Ghazali? Shaykh Abd al Hakim Murad was involved in it as an advisor I believe.
Perhpas ideas on the revolution of Islam (pre-revolution you could say) before Imam Mehdi :as: could be a very interesting topic to discuss for a long time. We need revolutionary ideas, beginning with what can be achieved with the Musalmaan Ummah of NurAllah :sas: besides our own paths to Allah subHanahu wa ta'ala
:s1: Sidi Asif, it was the V Character. Such an interesting character. The whole idea about an idea (the V idea) behind the mask was so intriguing. His English did not seem funny but sensible too. His visions, his ideas, his plans, his life, his manners, his culnirary skills. The movie exposed the big plans behind what is shown to us on media, the truth behind western and eastern leaders and the ever increasing corporate power. I would say Michael Moore's documentaries would be better to see on this topic. I just felt each of us would be Vs in the revolution of Islam. There were odd references to Muslims, so called terrorists and the Qur'an al-kareem in the movie however side by side with homosexual persecution, because the whole idea behind the movie was kind of a truth finding freedomish idea, and I do have obvious reservations. Natalie's character was intense. She was shown the Qur'an and told about Muslims. The movie was low budget, wasn't like any of the Matrix trilogy at all.
Sidi Wadood, biradar-e-azizam! You said it was 'inspiring'. I am merely asking you what about it made you feel like that since I ain't seen it. No hard feelings intended my dear brother. man ba ghorbanat shavam! Asif
i hope people will not begin writing movie reviews here on the site. perhaps i must remind that this is an islamic site?
What? But I just told you why I liked the movie, why ask again? Sidi Asif do you do this deliberately? or are you doing many things at once? because you did the same in that thread on ijtihad gates as well. Sidi Abu Hasan bleeded out entire pages to your question, and wow, you asked the same question again towards the end, hahahaha. The threads just become boring repeated gibberish like this. It would be nice to see anyone else who has seen the movie and knows about the interesting characterization in it.
assalamu alaykum Sidi Wadood! The trailer looked dire! And the critics panned it. Aside from Natalie Portman as eye-candy i cannot think of another reason to see it--and that is not enough of a reason for me! Why did you like it? I think an Islamic rev will not occur till Imam Mahdi alayhisalam comes.
I am still under the V effect.Such an inspiring movie. Its been weeks since I saw V for Vendetta, but that movie was so good, it still makes me feel a part of the revolution ahead (a Islamic version of it) Its time for Vendetta! Its time for freedom!
