As-Salāmu Alaykum. I think that it is important to learn that which would be useful to one's life and hereafter. E.g: fiqh and aqīda. And to avoid that which is useless insofar as life and the hereafter are concerned. E.g: irrelevant, complex theological issues

Living is a science, an art and a game. Considering that all we've got is an extremely brief interim, in which we've to not just learn how to live, but in-fact live what we've learned, we should hasten to get adept at living, as early on as possible, preferably well before the teenage period ends.
