download the five year anniversary book. in that you will see a letter by prince ghazi of jordan explaining how geoffrey of yemen is one of the chief architects of it

scroll further down and see the responses from christian priests. it is a plethora of advertisements, philosophical ramblings and justifications for the trinity and their putrid "son of god" beliefs masked as 'responses'. it is they who are doing their dawah to these people!

is the verse they quote (3:64) meant to command us to do dawah? or for anything else?

what is the aim of dawah? to call kafirs to Islam asserting tawhid and establishing Islam as the only religion acceptable to Allah? or to wax intellectual in group hugs with them suggesting (with exemplary good behavior of course) that they are all the better staying put in their kufr beliefs?

for some reason my other pc did't show the text on his site but only pics. just saw it. "geoffrey" calls the pope as 'holy father/holy pope' on his website if we work our way back from Arabic!

like it or not, i have said it in cryptic sentences before, but the fact remains that mark hanson's (and others like him) brazen heresies rest on the shoulders of "teachers" and "guides" like geoffrey!

his dastardly -------- of benedict with that common word rag was bad enough (yes even the Arabic document) but given the number of endorsing signatures and the people it mentioned, we tried our best to think that perhaps his name has been smothered in by people who wished to take a free ride using his name and 'status' but alas! the wahabis are right on this issue of wala and bara! (even though a few fools from their camp too signed it)

Allah protect us from the kind of "tasawwuf" taught by geoffrey

i do not know how long we will remain in self-denial and keep finding excuses for these people...i fear for that day when (al-iyadhu billah) ali al-jafri breaches that farthest line and then the house of cards comes crashing down.

inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'uun.

don't know if the article is true, but it talks about offering condolences to some "brothers" on a death:

    http://elbadil.com/المفتي-وبديع-ومرسي-وعمرو-خالد-والجفري
again, don't know if these wahabis are lying:

    http://www.al-shaaba.net/vb/showthread.php?t=7926

but these pictures of cozy gatherings don't seem to be doctored since they are from his own website:

draw your own conclusions or look the other way and whistle!

    From MFM:

    Álī al-Qārī has more details:

In conclusion, he who purchases something on a Navruz281 that is not [ordinarily] purchased by Muslims, has committed kufr. It has been reported of Abu Hafs al-Kabir al-Bukhari that he said: “Even if a man worships Allah táala for fifty years, and on the day of Navruz gifts something to polytheists, to honor their [religious] festival, he has committed kufr and disbelieved in Allah táala; his deeds of fifty years have gone to waste.” If one goes to the platform of disbelievers – that is, a [religious] gathering of infidels – on
Navruz, he has committed kufr; because, this is an advertisement of kufr, and this person has as if aided them in their proclamation of disbelief.

and see this horrid accusation and its reply. made my flesh crawl!

A talk by Habib Ali al-Jifri at Reviving the Islamic Spirt 2011 (Toronto, Canada, December 2011) - the Shaykh touches upon some of the items in this thread (see roughly 29 to 38 minute mark):

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUzQcj3enAk&feature=BFa&list=PL1B9C8038933B28A0&lf=plcp

I believe the Shaykh has a different view on this topic? Or am I misconstruing his speech?

so don't marry a christian or a jewish woman.

conversely, why does a person marry a christian/jewish woman? only because of love - if he had remembered the first principle, he did not have to resort to the second concession.

the concession is because, he has failed to live up to the first principle.

wAllahu a'alam wa `ilmuhu atam wa aHkam.

btw, the passage is from alahazrat's fatwa. see MFM for reference.

Jazakallah for this really comprehensive reply shaykh.

A few related questions that i humbly request you to clarify:

    Scenario 1:
I have a non-Muslim colleague/friend/neighbour to whom i have conveyed the message of Islam, to the best of my ability, but though he respects my faith he has refused to accept/shown indifference to my dawah.

    Scenario 2:
I have a colleague/friend/neighbor whose attitude and world views suggest that, though he is not inimical to my faith, he is ill-disposed to recieve my dawah or will deem it selfish and bossy/arrogant on my part so i have no intentions to preach to him neither have i have any hope to be able to do so in future.

    Scenario 3:
Non-Muslim professors who are not hostile to my religion or its rituals.

    Scenario 4:
I meet a non-Muslim on the highway, say, or on a journey, a complete stranger, i do not know his views about Islam, i have not much time to preach to him and i'll probably want to be cautious: he might be an islamophobic.

In all the above scenarios, the common feature is that the person in question is not expected to accept Islam, at my hands at least.

    1) So the question is whether it is permissible to do him any favour with the intention receiving a reward from ALLAH (Almighty)? Do the 'goodwill gestures' toward such Non-Muslims entail sawaab? (i think there is a hadith which says that being merciful to ANY living creature brings sawaab?)

    2) Will having other than necessary relations with them be allowed? Such as picnicking with them, inviting them to our parties etc.?

    3) Is it obligatory to preach to every non-muslim you have relations with?

Worrying about a person's afterlife and inviting him to islam and thereby to eternal bliss is the biggest gesture of goodwill that any muslim can possibly make toward his friends or fellow citizens. If THAT is out of question, i think any other 'favours' are purely selfish give-n-take. We laugh with them, dine with them, picnic with them while fully knowing that if he snuffs out right at this moment he's gonna burn ETERNALLY in the fire of hell ! is that not just hard-hearted?

But then, do we have a choice?

    Wassalaam.

Bearing love and affection, is entirely different from giving consideration and conducting transactions with someone. The difference between the two, is like that between the sky and the earth. It is permissible to conduct transactions and have dealings with anyone, except with apostates like Wahabis and Deobandis, in worldly matters, and [matters] in which there is no harm for religious obligations. The Dhimmi is similar to a Muslim in all such dealings: “They shall have the same rights and obligations as us”.

It is permissible to conduct transactions even with non-dhimmis. Transactions like buying and selling, leasing and renting, giving and accepting gifts (upon the condition that these gifts are permitted by the sharīáh); and to purchase anything from them, when such goods are of benefit for Muslims; and to sell them anything except weapons or such things that may be (mis)used to insult Islām. So also, it is permitted to employ them to do things that are not contrary to the sharīáh; and to accept employment of non-muslims in permissible activities that are not humiliating [to Muslims]; so also is hiring them and getting hired by them. It is permissible to give them gifts as goodwill as long as such gifts do not honour the rituals and religious customs of infidels, and to accept their gifts as long as such gifts do not contravene or criticise Islām. It is even permissible to marry a Christian or Jewish woman.

As long as they make peace with us, we shall be inclined towards them [in amity] – as long as such treaties do not force us to make ĥalāl as ĥarām and vice versa. So also, [it is allowed] to have contracts with them, and have covenants with them to a certain extent; and when such a permissible covenant is made, it is obligatory to fulfil it and it is forbidden to betray or renege from such promises.

Character of Prophet (peace be upon Him): a short clip of Imam Asim's.

From polishing/licking their shoes (as brother AQ would call it) to trampling them beneath, where does the 'moderate' Middle Way lie? What does Husn-ul-Khulq toward non-muslims demand? Arrogance, servitude or co-existence ? Where do we draw the line?

Are there any good books in english dealing with this topic? Please help.

    Jazakallah. Wassalaam.
