First Irfan Shah and now bey-Noor in Banbury. Not sure when Sunni ulama will recognise the necessity of having every imam sign a charter...
No not really because the ones who made these statements did not reject it from the get go. They did not state anyone interpolated these words into their work. If they did and this needs proof thats a totally different matter. Brother @Aqdas correct me if i am wrong, but this also happened to Imām al-Shaʿrani where they stated he said some Kufri statements in his books and he claimed that these words were interpolated into his books in his lifetime
Regarding statement 21-24, what if someone abstained, maintaining that the statements were kufr, and one who believes it is a kafir but he doesn't know for sure if these individuals made these statements and if they are found in their books they could have been added later etc. etc. He would therefore rather not say the individuals are kafir. Would this be acceptable?
Let's all stay asleep while closet shiah take over our masjids and let's dismiss The Sunni Charter as a waste of time, even if it would help weed out all the vermin. The work's been done. It just needs someone with some leadership, concern and work ethic to get it enacted.
Heartening to see the recent Charter attested by scores of Pakistani ulama. We too have been wanting the very same for years now. Please see the attached Sunni Charter which has been on the cards for perhaps 7 years now. We compiled and circulated among ulama since 1438 but no one paid much attention.
