that has got to be the most insane crock of nonsense i've read in my life. Sayyidina Ghawth-e-A3zdham's status as a scholar & a wali, his karamaat, etc. have come down to us by near tawatur. in fact, even the wahabis acknowledge his giant status.

it is reminiscent of mark hanson's essay trying to prove that Khidr 3alaihis salam is buddha!

and behold! the 'about the author' page of the website says this:

not much different than what mark hanson, ali jifry, bin bayyah, et al are doing with the Islamic sciences - applying crackpot 'scholarly rigour' to areas ruled by scholars as absolute zandaqah, kufr and quackery

This is a claim that needs to be substantiated.

It is a claim repeated on wikipedia:

    This is something referenced to:

This is something not mentioned by our own Muslim historians as far as I know.

the difference between western "scholarship" and islamic reporting standards - even when they report from weak or untrustworthy narrators - is that of sense and nonsense. western "scholars" will blindly dabble in manure and describe its "fine texture" and its softness and insist that it is cream; in the dark, blind and devoid of all senses, they take it as "gospel" truth regardless of the character of the person reporting. take richard burton; debauched, drunkard and the filthiest character who gladly admits to his sins - rather takes pride in them and has no moral compunctions whatsoever, is "authentic".

‘Mathiesen traces the origins of Traditional Islam to Seyyed Hussein Nasr’sTraditional Islam in the Modern World (1987) which, he considers, "sets forth a holistic, inspiring and learned grand vision of the Islamic past, of traditional Islam as it was, is, should and could be." Since 1987, he argues, Traditional Islam has developed into something more specific, more Sunni, and less perennialist--replacing, for example, the classic Traditionalist account of decline with one based soundly on Islamic hadith’

Mark Hanson was caught out pushing the perennialist agenda and stating that the exclusive truth is not limited to Islam. ‘Scriptural Reasoning’ and ‘the last trump card’ by Tim?

‘One that requires a deep level of insight into many branches of knowledge and one that should never be trusted to the untrained or the bigoted. In a lengthy essay on the subject of kufr and takfīr Keller explains that none of the aqīda issues related to the Deobandi/Barelwi-contentions of the 19th/20th centuries are essentially relevant to takfīr. They all revolve around peripheral dogmatic details where divergent interpretations are allowed and not around central creedal principles’

Keller the clown has a ‘divergent’ agenda just like Tim and Mark to try to weaken the foundations of the Deen. Brown Sahib’s with inferiority complexes should not take the Deen from any Mark, Tim, Dick or Noah ‘It requires a deep level of insight into many branches of knowledge and one that should never be trusted to the untrained or the bigoted’
