actually he was a tahir-style impostor back then too, and just like dajjal tahir, a very defiant one.

he was a good crowd pleaser and orator and changed tunes to suit the audience. what better way to sway a Turkish audience largely frustrated by an extremist secular autocracy (talking the 90's) to your favor than piggybacking on the glory of the Ottomans and their Muslim warrior spirit?

back then too the "mercy oceans" book was flying around (it has a lot of kufriyat), he used to make bogus predictions of israel not making it to Y2K, the theories of the house of windsor being secretly Sayyids and Muslims was also around, if memory serves me well, he even made a comment like the mirza that one should not disobey the queen of england (need to verify this one),

he (nazim) made bogus theories about dragons and serpents haunting some of the historical buildings in northern cyprus, used to give politically correct answers tailored to the audience at hand on the Sunni-shia issues, riding the Y2K scare wave back then, he had some discourses on the turn of events in the new millennium,

including his most famous and fantastical Mehdi predictions. he had claimed that Imam Mehdi shall appear PUBLICLY very soon (hinting towards the new millennium perhaps?), that he is in hiding due to wisdom and secrets only he knows, some of which he probably shared with awliyaa (hinting that he knows some and that he's a wali), but in the aalam-e-arwaah 124,000 awliyaa had taken the bay3at at the hands of Imam Mehdi (again implying that he's one of them), and than when he appears publicly, the entire Muslim world will do the bay3at at his hands.

    ---

remember tahir's dreams where Imam-e-A3zdham supposedly personally tutored him for 20 years? and his alleged conversations in dreams with the blessed Ghawth where he begged and pleaded with the Ghawth to grant him some of the Prophetic bounty he received from the Prophet 3alaihis salam? why all that, remember tahir's deobandi-styled dream where he alleged that the Prophet 3alaihis salam himself appointed him to take care of Pakistan? and then he migrates to canada as an asylum seeker!!!!!

i dunno why none of the politicians or religious heads (of any sect) picked up on that! you say the Prophet has appointed you as a caretaker of Pakistan, and then you go file for asylum at the canadian embassy! interesting..... to say the least!

    ---

the deobandis too had some fantastical dream narrations, about the drawing the line in the ground ordering the commencement of such an excellent institute at that spot, about alleged praises for their alleged expertise in the urdu language, and a couple more that i can't be bothered remembering now.

Excellent clip. I too wish shaykh nazim had kept on the same path.

it is good. i wish shaykh nazim remained like that instead of his later avatar. this was during necmettin erbakan's time as president (1996-97)

bujh bhi jaatey haiN dahakne waaley...

now that he has passed away, only Allah ta'ala knows what he was and what he did.

Here is an amazing video of the Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan attending a massive meeting of Turks in Belgium and being addressed by Shaykh Nazim (q). It is in Turkish with English subtitles. Islamic Turkish leaders historically have been close to Naqshbandi sufis. Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!

(the English subtitles are hardcoded - don't press the CC icon otherwise you get Portuguese subtitles -- c. 8 mins.)

    :)

Unfortunately not but in sha Allah someday.
A tour guide I met told me he was in contact and knew the family of Imam Rumi.
The Turks have much love for the awliya especially Imam Rumi rahmatullah alai.

Erdogan is a top guy.. I've spent time in turkey and have friends there, they all praised Erdogan for his willingness to take the country towards being more Islamic, I think he understands that the golden age for turkey existed because the rulers & nation as whole were Islamic.

I had the opportunity to talk to normal every day people, young lads from university to old men at masjids, what the older guys told me was what stands out, they mentioned that during their youth & adult years the government was secular and didn't allow even the Friday Khuthba to be read in arabic, the Jummah Bayan was done in Turkish and so was the Arabic Khuthba... These old men now come to learn arabic at a Adult Maddrassa class held by Dawat e islami brother in turkey, unfortunately due to the way things were back then for them you may come across many grown people there who can not read arabic.

But these old men are chuffed to bits with Erdogan as they mentioned that under him the country is more Islamic, more financially better off, people's businesses are doing well and most importantly of all the bellies & pockets of the general public are full or at the very least not empty... he has a thumbs up from me

  11. If the Armies of Muslim countries prayed in congregation and did loud group Zikr it would enough to take on any fighting force the world has ever seen.

masha Allah! Erdogan is a great leader for Turkey. Insha Allah the Ottoman caliphate will revive in some capacity and Islam will take up its righteous central place in Turkish life with the blessings of Hazrat Mawlana Rumi (q) and all the other Saints!

may the day come when they dig out that scoundrel kamal pasha's grave and fill it with cowdung - rather make it a site for waste treatment plant - make it a national monument of what happens to enemies of islam.

may Allah's la'anat be upon the enemies of islam.

despots and tyrants; rabid anti-muslim devils such as kamal-pasha of turkey will die and be forgotten. all those hedonistic murtaddeen who hate islam, will die and rot away. their ideologies and followers will scatter and perish.

    islam will never be subdued.

    Allahu Akbar.
