Noor TV is worse and the owners should be ashamed. I was just watching a programme on Shahadat of Sayiduna Imam Hussain RA and was disgusted. Whenever the guest Allama Hafiz Ihlaq Mubarak Sahib would mention anything about the blessed head of Sayiduna Imam Hussain RA and the martyrdom the audio would be muted. 1 hour programme and most of it was muted, why do a programme then? Why can Shias speak so openly and qadiyanis and our Peers have to hide everything? This was a live programme!

The problem is that proper sunni scholars are deliberately not given much time due to the influence of individuals like baldy shafiq. Just take a look at this screen shot where Shafiq the Tafzili gloats about the fact Shaykh Naveed Ashrafi wasn't invited on to the panel, his as good as hinting that he had some input behind that decision, he also is chuffed to have umar minhaji on the panel, no doubt that was a request of shafiq the tafzili Screenshot_2014-12-09-00-53-23-1.png

yes, pretty much. I don't think it's as bad but I think for money, the owner will do whatever it takes. the issue is, it's a catch 22. if sunni ulama stop appearing on it, he gets the sulH kullis etc. like budally, umar minhaji and if they do appear, people might question why. I think they should keep appearing on the channel to avoid letting the sulH kullis and devs taking it over.

I hope young scholars from the north west such as mawlana Husain and mawlana kalim can move into media for the greater good.

It started off well but has gone down hill.

Started off with Adam saying channel will be funded by him.

We then saw advertisements. Charity appeals leading to charity scams. Deviants coming on to their channels. Now we see the things they're selling.

As brother Barry stated its now a business model ££££

It's a shame so many Sunni scholars from up and down the country to the channel without being paid or even being given money for travel and what happens? He bloody invites tafdilis! Adam is well aware of the issues with him.

The only thing worth watching on it is the question & answers program they broadcast, other than that it's mostly full of rubbish programs that have nothing to do with islam or propagation of Ahle Sunnah & Truth.

Even a Sunni scholar who sometime comes on there admitted to me that the majority of the programs on there are complete rubbish & that upright sunni scholars aren't given much airtime, rather Tafzili's like Shafiq are favoured along with his Tafzili brother Umar and various other dubious individuals.

I myself class it no different from the likes of DM digital. It's not much different really other than rather than independent people trying to flog their stuff by buying airtime on DM, you have on Ummah channel the owner who's monopolised himself over all these avenues of generating money like Marriage introduction service, In house charities, Tv Sales selling anything from pocket prayermats to handbags & earings.

It's basically now a business in the disguise of a islamic channel that basically just host a couple of islamic programs to keep up the pretence.

Somebody called in and asked Umar what he thinks about Hussam ul-Haramain.
He answered that he has not read all fatawa of Alahazrat.
Maybe it is time for him to read Hussam then.

I've always found it the least likeable of the 'Islamic' channels available and for various reasons.

Brother Aqdas no one has control on that channel other than the owner himself. Sabri Sahib only arrange guests for the Special series programmes. Umar was invited by the owner Arif himself and his Brother Shafiq.

As for making money no one can deny that, nearly every 2 minutes their is someone trying to sell a mop, vacuum cleaner or a frying pan. With men and women standing side by side selling looking like couples.

as above, i've felt for a long time that the aim of ummah channel is not the promotion of ahlu's sunnah but rather to make money etc.

if the owners and head of Islamic affairs etc. were bothered about ahlu's sunnah, they wouldn't have let the ignorant umar budally on recently. why are they allowing people on who promote that devbandis etc. are our brothers?! budally is not learned but anyone who can say ya'ani and dresses like an arab can fool people these days. people like him should sit that entrance exam we talked about because he'd fail badly.

again, sunni ulama seem to be fast asleep as if it's somebody else's business.

What I find more disturbing is that this same man (Shah Mahmood) and others like him are invited in gathering of respectable Sunni Ulama, without somebody doing his islah.

Does anyone find a lot of their programmes cringeworthy? There's a lot of showmanship and the presenters clearly promote and take part in it.

I'm just watching the melodramatist Pakistani na'at khwan shahid mahmood and it's like a concert and I think they're doing all this in the presence of the mu'ye Mubarak.

Ummah needs to sort itself out. The owner/producers/directors/hosts need to remember it's an Islamic channel and not a business and showbiz.
