I used to be a big fan of the professor in question but i do believe he is part of the problem. The amount of propaganda he has given the anti tasawuf would actually make the assertion he's a secret deobndi more realistic. The idea that ppl are jealous of him is just emotional consolation for his staunch backers. There's a few threads that clearly expose his ineptitude when it comes to explaining ahadith. Yes he is a good speaker and thus gets plenty of airtime but that doesnt make it obligatory for every sunni to blindly follow him.

minhajis scholars are the source of misunderstanding, what will they clear up? they will just add more haze to the minhaji tahiri fog.
