It is heart-warming to see brother Shahid Ali fearlessly tackle issues that are relevant for these times of fitnah. May Allah cause him to grow in this field and utilize his time, knowledge, and skills for promoting Sunnah and destroying heresies of shayatin like tahir and paqs and many more.

Wajid on Tafdhiliyyat, Tahir on Christmas and Urs of Amir Muawiyah رضي الله عنه and Yaqoubi on Sulh e Kulliyat and Nadwi ideology all refuted in front of Wajids face as he nods along in agreement...

 

And those who engage in Orwellian Doublespeak where they look to add loopholes or nuances in matters of decisiveness, how can one accurately convey their views? When one's stance is unclear like Abdul Qadir Shah, who claims that Syeduna Abu Bakr then writes books and gives speeches to undermine thar, then how can the opposition be deemed 'insincere'. Just trying to play clever over simple principles in my opinion.

So basically, he's ok with someone having their own ijtihad regarding the tafdil issue not being ijmayi but then seems to the Wilayah (which I accept) of Imam Ibn Arabi seems to be an ijmayi issue and anyone today who goes against it is misguided.

 

Fwiw, mainstream wahabis also consider akram nadwi as a dejected heretic and pariah! Yaqoubi sab is on really slippery slope here with the likes of akram nadwi or malm et al. Yaqoubi might as well write a blank check to javed ghamidi!

 

looks like yaqubi sab has no ability to look for talented people - a number of other celebrity shaykhs are smarter than him and keep idiots with some talent.

now this shamsuddin whom yaqubi has annointed - is blind to the sun and gropes in the dark. not surprising, because yaqubi has praised a man like akram nadwi - who is not only a despicable wahabi, but is also uncouth and hangs around with reprobate punks. perhaps this is the adab of hadith and muhaddithin yaqubi teaches his class.

if this be the case of yaqoubi who doesn't have the courage to deplore blasphemers ("innocent lives"...ha..!) - one may not expect much from his shamsuddin-designate. if shamsuddeen is really sure of his fatwa - let him get a written fatwa from yaqubi sab that:

anyone who denies ijma of the superiority of sayyiduna abu bakr al-siddiq remains a sunni​

let us see if this is yaqubi's own aqidah - or shamsuddin has become deluded and is saying things his own shaykh doesn't approve of..

i lost respect for yaqubi for many reasons. when a great muhaddith gives an ijazah to a child, it comes with conditions. and that ijazah is valid or valuable only if the child remains true to those conditions when he grows up. if not, that ijazah becomes defunct. nas'alu Allah al-aafiyah.
