    No one concluded that as far as I'm aware - the people who end sehri at a time later than 1.00am-1.15am all claim to use methods other than nisf al layl.

    I do not live in the UK so unfortunately not able to directly benefit from the ulama.

    I wonder on which method of calculation they agreed to use for those places where fajr according to 18 degrees does not occur?

    Nisf al-Layl in London:

    Shuruq = 4:53
    Maghrib: 21:18

    7 hours and 35 minutes is the whole night divided into 2 = 3 hours and 48 minutes.

    This would mean, in London sehri would be at 1:05 AM!

    Who concluded from nisf al-layl that one starts the fasts at 3:00?!?

    I was watching Takbeer; Hazrat Allama Pir Sayyid Zafurullah Shah did a great job. Hazrat Allama Pir Rafiq Chisti Sialvi is a great thinker of our times.

    They did a great job

    well, they were all invited. wonder why they didn't turn up...

    btw, mawlana shabbir sialvi is pakistani.

    ---
    fajr begins at nisf al-layl so 3am...? don't know whether to laugh or cry.

    ---
    do those 'ulama' who advocate 2:30-3:30am just do that despite knowing nisf al-layl is correct but if they adopt it they will displease their muqtadis who will start following an 'easier' timetable thus taking their donations elsewhere...?

    is it just politics and money stopping them from coming and discussing the issue?
