Salaam everyone,
The Noble Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:--

"The thing which has OBSCENITY will be
spoilt by it and the thing which has MODESTY
will be beautified by it". (Tirmidhi)

By this Noble Hadith, we understand the secret of appearing beautiful, especially in today's world when modesty is attacked as lack of confidence and vulgarity is praised as boldness. Subhanallah! truly, values are inverted as the Day of Judgement approaches...
 
Modesty is a missing trait in many public figures. Many of them are arrogant.

They say, a branch that bears fruit hangs low. Meaning, a person who actually possesses something doesn't need to shout about it. It is there for people to see.

Arrogance is my biggest pet peeve.

Why can't public figures just be a bit modest? Why do they demand special protocol? This needs a discussion because I'm tired of seeing this.

Corollary: why do we have huge titles? Seems totally contrary to tasawwuf to hand them out today. Taj of ABC or XYZ e Sunniyat.

Its getting to the point where some of the middle class muridin could teach their pir a thing or two about humility.

Since when can sajjadas demand murids who are of modest means up front for brand new laptops and other such things?
