I have herd a lot of rumors about certain sana khwaans such as owais qadri and so on, that they demand money up to €1000 qnd so on, are any of these rumors true, i personally to not believe them at all.

Salaam brother, Owais Raza does charge £1500 per stint, we had him at our local mosque last year. He come recited a few nasheeds stayed about 1 hour and asked for £1500 as his fee, after 30 minutes of bartering they ended up giving him £1000 cash on the proviso they did not tell anyone he took less then his normal fee. All I can say on the matter is that at least he is sunnah and was bayah with a great alim and shaykh.
I know of at least 2 naat khawaan that go around UK sunni mehfil who are in fact shiah (one is tafdheeli) the other is shiah out right and when he was challenged about it (lives near paakpattan shareef) i.e. why there were shiah mehfil in his kowtee he, replied, "that that was his family and brother not him!". yet when ever he appears he is always wearing black....LOL

Why entertain rumors that are basically made up of Chinese whispers & speculation...
Im not saying this kind of thing doesn't take place, but if you feel strongly about it then wouldn't it be more productive if you asked the individuals in question directly if possible, rather than asking on a forum that they in all likelihood are not members of.

He has himself addressed the issue in this video where he states he dose not charge for reciting Naats.

Perhaps his being honest in what he says as it would be impermissible to charge to reciting Naats.. His workaround this could be that he charges you for his time.. much like being on ijaara.
He may have a certain price... xxxx amount for one hour of his time, in that time you could ask him to do anything from sitting silently or reading Naats or anything else within the bounds of shariah.
Im not saying his price is justified for his time, but if it is like a ijaara then his not basically doing anything haraam...
on a side note iv been to a mefil where Hafiz Tahir Qadiri attended and the brothers put him on a ijaara for £50 for whatever time he spent there, he was there from start to finish of the mefil like a trooper.... In my views that is sensible pricing, but you will get others who choose to charge more for their time, and you will get people willing to pay it.

it is well known in the subcontinent that naatkhwans charge for naat/their time. the same is true for many reputable shuyukh who charge for their lectures/time.
last i heard in 2007, apparently any famous enough naatkhwan could (back then) easily pocket 2-2.5 lacs for a single evening of a wedding Mawlid. apparently celebrity naatkhwani/Mawlid has become quite popular in wedding rusoomaat in pakistan. (nothing wrong with Mawlid/naatkhwani of course, but back in the good old days, the dadi ammas and bridesmaids, etc used to do their own Mawlid/naatkhwani or just used to invite the good reciters from within their neighborhood/friends circles. the operative word here is celebrity, and pomp and show, and that's what i have a problem with)

When i listen to owais qadri reciting kalaams he really connects to me, but a lot of brothers have mentioned to me he isnt what you think he is, ive allways ignored them but it does really hurt when u do know what everyone has said is true. They weep and cry when reciting naat shareef which makes you think they are very sincere but the prices for a mehfil show opposite.

to be fair, some of the Sunni naatkhwans and scholars charge in order to fund their own Islamic ventures like publications of Islamic books, running madrasahs, and other such things. i know of one scholar like this, who charges for speeches etc. but then also runs a madrasah or a publishing venture (forgot now).
of course what %-age goes to those activities and what goes to personal funds etc. Allah knows
the thing is if these people are 24/7 involved in deeni pursuits (talking about honest-to-God Sunnis), then when exactly do they earn a living? and what exactly should be their deeni-duniyawi balance? of course in a lot of cases they have made a career out of deen.
indeed i have ranted profusely about the perennialists and wahabis making a "career" out of deen - see this thread, and this post, and this post, and this post, and this post, this one too, and finally this one.
so even for Sunnis, we either need very good and provable justifications for their actions if and when they do something "for profit" or we need to be equally as cynical towards the "career-Sunnis" sans the disgust that we have for heretics. or else our opponents are going to accuse us of hypocrisy
dedicating yourself to a non-profit venture will take just that much time away from your for profit ventures.

It's really better if you question them on the matter so you Know for definite it's true and you hear their answer first hand to your concerns which I do understand. Better to question them about it than question their love on here I would say.
Brothers personally i think people listen to the zikr of Allah azzawajal,rasoolallah peace be upon him and the awliya may allah have mercy on them in order to spiritually lift them. As imam ahmed raza khan may allah bless him said in order to increase love for rasoolallah listen to praise of the prophet peace be upon him by good recitors.
I think telling people that our ba amal sana khwans are greedy for money is just going to spiritually hinder them even more. Rather we should listen to the kalaams of our great predecessors and thats all.

Brother aqdas i do agree with you that they should he happy with what they are given. If someone gives extra they should say jazakallah and if someone gives the average rate they should not create a big commotion.

Brother, let not your hatred for shiah blind you from the truth. According to hanafi-fiqh it is mustahab to wear black clothes. I suggest you should start wearing black clothes from now on, it sawaab.

Ibn Abidin says: it is sawwab to wear black clothes and imam muhammad shaybani has mentioned a hadith in his al-siyar al-kabir, which proves that it is recommended to wear black clothes.

black clothes are definitely, NOT RECOMMENDED, especially if people tend to think you are a Shia, or especially during Muharram.
afaik, Ala Hazrat's fatwa is that it is haram to wear black clothes during the first 10 days of Muharram to avoid resemblance to rafidis
