Allama Dr Azmi

it's obvious this ignoramus hasn't been through dawra e hadith or ever opened a book of Seerah in his life. his 'knowledge' only comes from forums and blogs and the few oft-repeated and quoted out of context narrations.

It is sad Maulvis with fake titles like Mufakkir, Lisan ul Asr and Mujaddid are leaving behind 'Maulvi Nasheens'

It was bad enough with Pirs leaving 'Sajadah Nasheens'

20:00-25:00 - outrageous!

لا حول ولا قوة الا بالله

i only randomly heard some random piece somewhere. didn't see that part.

as the hadith says, a slave utters a word and he falls 70 years into the depths of jahannam without even realizing it.

thoughts and prayers for those who disparaged the Prophet, 3alaihis salam? - he can be sure the la3nah of Allah, and the malaaika, and the believers, humans and jinn, is upon him.

I had expressed my fears in this post and this and it is sad that this speech confirms them.

I reiterate (in the interest of the sunnis, not that my opinions matter) that SDI people really need to reconsider their decision about promoting him from their platform - especially to the subcont and even more specifically to the Indian youth. He is usually a confirmed speaker at SDI's annual ijtema at wadi-e-noor, Azad Maidan, Mumbai.

I can say from personal experience that the TOI article that Ghulam linked to in another thread was not far from the general sentiment prevalent among the sunni youth of India - that Waqar Azmi is the sunni response to the english-speaking wahabi proselytiser Zakir Naik (one must also raise their eyebrows at TOI's praise of azmi, it being a blatant anti-muslim publication). One doctor against the other and that too the son of a high standing and world famous sunni 'aalim with a long list of high profile political roles decorating his CV. Sunnis couldn't bring in a better contender for the post of celebrity orator-ship, could they?

Those people who can, should approach Allamah sahib and earnestly request him to talk to his son because this speech has crossed all limits - expediency for da'wah or supporting muslims' cause does not mean one can start grovelling to the kuffar at the expense of one's iman - and the imaan of so many sunni fans. And this was supposed to be a mawlid gathering!

He shouldn't be allowed to speak at any Milad. Hope the Cheetham Hill Jhelumi/Mirpuri/Laylpuri/Dadyali congregation do not allow him to become Maulvi Nasheen of Astana Alia Lisan ul Asr Cheetham Hill Sharif and take the Masjid over. We all know what has gone off in Harrow

Azmi's Ph.D is honorary like Lisan ul Asr's title of Mufakkir.

It Is really saddening to see such people stand on the Pulpit of the Messenger of Allah (SalAllahu 'Alayhi WaSallam). However I find it more saddening that he is invited as a special guest to events held by Sunni Organisations such as Sunni Dawate Islami (Although many Sunni Ulema come to the event hosted by Sunni Dawate Islami, his name was one of the 4 names written on their poster) and other organisations as well. His father is a very big scholar and spiritual guide, but I find it confusing why he wasn't reprimanded when he made the previous blunders.

I also dislike the fact that a person without a beard does speeches, it has a very negative effect on the youth as it somewhat gives of the impression that 'you don't really need to keep a beard as the person lecturing us doesn't have one himself and he's sat on the stage with numerous Ulema'

A final complaint I have is regarding scholars making their children excel in secular studies and pay less attention to Islamic Studies. I am not saying that it is wrong for them to educate their children but rather, many a scholar make their children doctors, lawyers, engineers and most of the time, the children end up having a secular outlook and try to adjust Islam to fit this outlook of theirs.

Scholars know better than anyone the excellence of Knowledge and how important it is to educate oneself Islamically in this day and age when to leave Islam by uttering a few thoughtless words is not hard at all.

I sincerely believe that only Scholars and extremely Knowledgeable brothers who are well read have a chance of staying away from uttering erreneous statements. We need to bring back the love and thirst for knowledge and embedd this in our children.

He lectures at Indian Islamic Mission events in Canada and Holland usually. Only a handful of people attend these events. As for IDI hosting him it is more problematic.

Nepotism and 'Maulvi Nasheen' is a problem. Kashmiri and North Punjabis who fund these Pirs, Maulvis need to wake up and start spending the millions these Masajid hold on Ilm e Deen. But who will these committees employ some Maulvi who has not even really 'studied' and will promote himself to Mufakkir, Mujaddid and whatever else after getting a passport? Our institutes and quality of graduates are a mess even back home. We now have Shayukh born and bred in the UK with weekend Ijazas after reading a book with faraz/online portal or attending the odd night class keeping us warm in in the cold winter Mawlids. Allah Ta'ala knows best but there will be problems in years to come when these people will not even be able to deal with day to day issues facing the Muslim community. Them being touted as Ulama now just because they have donned a turban and chadar is dangerous.

You do not even have to have a secular education to make it big in a Sunni Masjid in the UK. You can even be a 'Sufi Nasheen' and be a electrician or a undertaker and Sunnis will follow you.

An article saying I was told all my offspring are Awliya will do the trick with Mirpuris also.

in Canada its more like Mauritian Islamic Mission. the indians in Canada are usually in deeboism.

i have seen him once in Canada. Thats it.

I personally consider Mawlana Qamruzzaman a hypocrite in this particular matter.

He has travelled around the world preaching to others and making Murids, guiding them on the path of Suluk

Yet, he can't and hasn't been able to embedd true love into the heart of his son. Not only this but has shown his cowardice when he has failed to rectify his son's mistakes but also allowing this Jahil-e-Mutlaq to do speeches.

This is EXACTLY what Ala Hazrat was warning against when disallowing non-scholars to do speeches.

i think western Muslim immigrants and their kids should all go back to where they came from. even the local converts should migrate to Muslim countries. not easy, i know. it's only an opinion and a wish.

in Muslim countries (or india as an exception) the awam doesn't have any connection problems with the ulema. i mean they know the language, dialect culture, slang etc etc. the awam only faces one problem, of locating knowledgeable scholars who truly give knowledge its due. (in the case of india, hikmah in dealing with hindus is also required)

----

in the west you have three simultaneous problems,

locating knowledgeable scholars who actually use that knowledge well in Allah's cause,

locating those with HIKMAH who can walk the fine line between upholding and propagating Islam without kissing up and diplomatically coexisting peacefully in society without coming across as either kiss ups or terrorism supporters,

connecting with the youth in terms of local language, culture, dialect etc rather than imports

and unless all three qualities are simultaneously found in the same individual, the western Muslim congregation WILL suffer.

----

sure, back home too people have started to get infatuated by english speaking Molvis who use powerpoint presentations rather than the old school Urdu-speaking types (sadly a market demand tahir caters to), but still both the awam can come across the good scholars, and they too can still get their message across to the awam

A bigger issue than his son is the connection Shaykh Qamaruzzaman's mosques are having with faraz online and co. I respect Shaykh Qamar. A thousand Sunni families in Canada consider faraz a shaykh due to the world islamic mission that Shaykh Qamaruzzaman Azami heads today from the UK. If you add Shaykh Faisal Abd ar Razzaq, then the tally rises to thousands of more families, who consider faraz a shaykh.

Bobbers Mill is a Masjid that holds the daily prayers.

"We have been doing this every Good Friday for 16 years,” Dr Musharraf Hussain, chief executive and chief imam at the Karimia Institute, told Nottingham Post on Saturday, April 19.

What approach can/should be taken? I mean, people look at Shaykh Qamruzzaman with star-struck eyes and also view his son to be pretty untouchable too (to an extent) since he has the backing of big scholars such as his father, Shaykh Shakir Razwi.

We need the elders to speak out, the sad reality is that us discussing on a forum will not change anything. Most people don't visit forums and listen to such speeches and end up accepting the improper statements and then there are subconsciously embedded into their mindsets and collectively, such mistakes end up poisoning the mind of a person and thus, making it easier for them to fall into the traps of free-thinking, secularism, sullah-kullism etc.

Note: Not saying the speaker is a free-thinker, secularist or sullah-kulli. rather, he's just a jahil who thinks he's got some of Knowledge

He has bent over backwards really bad at 45:35 onwards. His argument takes a brutal turn at 44:00 mins

This man sounds like Tariq Ramadan. His arguments are typical of western muslim wannabees. Its arrogance,

IF all of you had the chance to sit Waqar Azmi in a room and basically ask him about his behavior/statements, what would you ask him, what evidence would you provide, and how exactly would you phrase it? Also, this would be recorded.

Please provide your question, with exact phrasing (in a manner that could not be seen by him as provoking, as not to let him dodge the question), please provide the evidence (clips, writings, etc...) with timestamps. Also if you're quoting him, please provide the clip pertaining to the quote so there's no way out. Depending the response something can be done...soon.

This man is so dumb. He should be given a ticket, as a European Union citizen, to make a racial camp countering Pegida in Dresden, similar to what he has done for racial relations in the UK
