O unfortunate Christians! Lend ears to the Muslims
Here is Busiri, here is Saadi and here is Raza
Hearken and Behold what it means to Praise!

it is a mark of shallowness, simple minded impetuosity, intellectual sloth an spiritual bankruptcy to turn and object of admiration and reverence into a demigod.

It's the easiest way out. Doesn't take much exertion. Not surprisingly, human communities have been doing it since time immemorial. Christians, jews, hindus, buddhists and every other cult out there, you name it, have taken this route which beggars spirituality and reeks of frivolity and contempt rather than veneration, despite all pretenses to the contrary.

But it takes depth, sincerity and, I dare say, heroic valor to eulogize without deifying the beloved.

to the dotard I extend my pity
but only contempt to phony sincerity
