Deobandis attack Sunnis - Moti Masjid Karachi

deobandis took over Moti Masjid, physically assaulting fasting Sunni Muslims, kicking them out with their amama shareefs flying in the air and their iftaar food thrown out

 
detailed video showing how the attack began, with the Sunni Imam addressing a gathering before the onslaught.

You can see and hear Sunnis send durood and salat wa salam out loud that probably intimidated the deobandis / tableeghis / Sipah e Sahaba forcing them to attack

 
they're notorious in pakistan for occupying Sunni mosques and colloquially known as "qabza group", meaning "occupiers"

we are also to blame for some things (speaking aside from this incident, about occupations generally, Sunni mosques being made into deobandi). Sunnis have been complacent for a very long time and never focused on da3wah to masses and acquisition of mosques and spreading of the Ahlus Sunnah maslak with hikmah, planning and strategy. we don't have to be occupiers like them, but there are a bunch of things we missed doing for quite some time.
 
This is very concerning !

Are the Sunnis doing anything to regain the lost masjids and what is the likelihood of them succeeding?

Can the Sunnis gain political influence, with the army's backing, since everyone knows that deobanids are involved in terrorists activities?

Wouldn't it be wise for Sunni jamaats to work with Dawa-e-Islami to counter the najdi/deobani/wahabi threat?

It would be wise but unfortunately many sunni jamaats & sunni masjids do the opposite.

I will give you one example that I've witnessed myself recently, a prominent business man decided to allow DI to use a 3 story empty mill that he owned, rent free for a number of years to run a Maddrasa, Faizan e Madina and hopefully a Jamiah soon also.
The local main sunni masjid found out and sent a group of it's representatives around and asked him to take the place back off them. When he refused they left and then heard about a objection to the council by non muslims about the opening of this place, so individual from their side decided to also get involved in adding backing to the objections to get the place shut down. This is the state of sunnis in our time unfortunately.

The thing is if DI hadn't have accepted the offer of this kind individual to use his premises then it would have almost certainly gone into deobandi hands as main Deo reps turned up a few days later saying their looking for a place to use etc. He told them his just given the keys to DI.

What would have our local sunni masjids done then if he had become upset that DI said no and instead gave it to the devs to establish a center right in the middle of the community.

Sunnis need to learn to work with sincerity and stop the agendas small & big to succeed.
 
Unfortunately some Sunnis are too busy fighting turf wars to grab more fans, and fuming with jealousy over DI and SDI activities and make differences of fiqh out to be issues of Sunniyat and non Sunniyat or iman and kufr.
 
Unfortunately, the problem we also experienced is wrt DI approaching teachers from established Sunni madressas, offering them more money and then taking them over to their madressas which resulted in these established Sunni madressas suffering a teacher drain and being forced to close down and send kids to the DI ones.
 
Perhaps if there was more cooperation between other jamaats (sunni) and DI then we might not have certain issues going on. As far as devs taking over masjids well thats gonna happen if we sunnis keep looking for opportunities to do each other over.
 
Yes. DI should have co-operated better with these other jama'ah and understood that instead of opening up new madressas they could have contributed to these existing and established madressas but they were unwilling to sacrifice their name (DI). Unfortunately.

As far as i know DI pay minimum wage to their teachers and most come from in house, be that from Karachi or elsewhere. If they approached staff of another maddaris with a job offer then that should have gone through contact with the other maddaris first etc, but if they didn't do it like that then I can see why it may upset someone. But to be totally honest perhaps other maddarises should try to rais their wages if that is a issue for staff members.

Im sure there is a lot more to it than what you mention "unwilling to sacrifice their name". In my experience iv found that the majority of the public want DI in their towns because they trust it and it provides free for all education, but this doesn't always sit well with other organisations. obviously DI has its own way of doing things and the majority of times a collaboration brings more problems than it solves in cases of masjid committees.

But lets not turn this into a point scoring & bashing exercise to satisfy our egos, it doesn't serve the cause of sunniyat. Di is a work in progress that is improving its relationships with other sunni organisations and is doing great work on a international level for the general public. To me thats what matters most and I personally would say smaller sunni jamaats/organisations would be better off by fusing with DI . Just my opinion.

Yes. They did not do that. btw Just to be clear, I am talking about specific cases that have occurred in South Africa. I can't comment on other areas as I don't live there. The landscape is completely different in South Africa compared to other areas/countries.

deobandi's are shayateen who get riled when salat and salam is read out loud.
