Assalamu 'Alaikum

Kanzul Imaan is most definitely a Treasure of Faith. It is an unparalleled translation of the Glorious Qur'an. In translating 55:4, Imam Ahmad Rida has said,

"He taught him speech regarding whatever had already happened and whatever will happen." (maa kaan wa ma yakoon).

This is a tafseer of the verse by Imam Khazin, Imam Baghawi in his Mu'aalim at-Tanzeel and Imam Isma'il Haqqi in his Ruh al-Bayan (which has been translated by Allama Faiz Ahmad Uwaisi in 15 volumes).

Are there any other commentaries which mention these words for this verse?
 
Qadi 'Iyad uses Ma kaan wa ma yakoon is his Shifa' (vol. 1, p.221)

Baghawi (vol. 7, p.2) also does so.

Imam 'Asqalani uses the words wa ma yakoon and writes that Rasoolallah 'alaihis salam was given this knowledge (Fath al-Bari, vol. 16, p.21).

Moreover, the Wahabi Mujaddid, Nawab Siddiq Hasan Bhopali wrote a book al-Iza'ah ma kaan wa ma yakoon baina yada sa'ah in which he proved Rasoolallah's sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam knowledge to cover ma kaan wa ma yakoon.

ibn Hajar Makki has also used these words (will look for reference, Insha' Allah).
 
in fatawa ridawiyyah, vol.23, p.698, alaHazrat writes regarding 'ilm e jafar [prediction]. he quotes 'allama sayyid shareef from sharh mawaqif that imam ja'far sadiq gathered the knowledge of maa kaan wa ma yakoon in his book jafar jaami'.
 
Famous Maliki Scholar Ahmad Sawi 1825 CE ( 1241 AH) wrote a tafsir called Hashiya al-Sawi ‘ ala al-Jalalayn. (Popularly known as Tafsir al sawi).
Under verse three and Four of Sura Rahman, he writes:
“And he is mohammed sal allahu alayhi wa sallam, who is a perfect man ( al insan al kamil ) which means he was given the knowledge of ma kaan wa ma yakoon wa man hu wa kaioon.
(All that which has happened, all that which is happening and all that which will happen)

7449 - وَحَدَّثَنِى يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِىُّ وَحَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ جَمِيعًا عَنْ أَبِى عَاصِمٍ - قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ - أَخْبَرَنَا عَزْرَةُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عِلْبَاءُ بْنُ أَحْمَرَ حَدَّثَنِى أَبُو زَيْدٍ - يَعْنِى عَمْرَو بْنَ أَخْطَبَ - قَالَ صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- الْفَجْرَ وَصَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَخَطَبَنَا حَتَّى حَضَرَتِ الظُّهْرُ فَنَزَلَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ صَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَخَطَبَنَا حَتَّى حَضَرَتِ الْعَصْرُ ثُمَّ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ صَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَخَطَبَنَا حَتَّى غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَأَخْبَرَنَا بِمَا كَانَ وَبِمَا هُوَ كَائِنٌ فَأَعْلَمُنَا أَحْفَظُنَا.
 
Ibn Amin said:

prayed fajr with us then climbed the pulpit and addressed us until the time came for zuhr, then he descended and prayed. Then he climbed the pulpit and addressed us until the time came for `asr, whereupon he descended and prayed. Then he climbed the pulpit and addressed us until the sun set. He informed us about all that was to happen until the Day of Resurrection. The most knowledgeable of us is he who has memorized the most.
 
Hadeeth of Muslim:

Said `Amr ibn AkhTab al-AnSaari: Rasulallah Sallallahu `Alayhi wa Sallam did his Fajr Salaah one day and rose upon the pulpit and gave us a sermon until the DHuhr time arrived; He got down and did his DHuhr Salaah and rose upon the pulpit (again) and gave us a sermon until the `Asr time arrived; He got down and did his `ASr Salaah and rose upon the pulpit and gave us a sermon until the sun set. So, (therein) he told us of (gave us the news) all things that would happen till judgement day. Said (the reporter) the most knowledgeable amongst us is he who remembers the most.

what is the hukm on one who holds that Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam has knowledge of the ghayb but not to the extent of maa kaan wa maa yakoon?

Many sunni scholars held this view.

Please note , the wahabi ( deobandis and la madhabis) beleif is that prophet (sal allahu alayhi wa sallam) was not given any knowledge of the unseen.

Assalamualaikum my respected brothers
Unfortunately i am not much educated in our deen
So i have been trying to learn from youtube videos of our ahle sunnat ulma about our aqaids
From past few months some whaybi deobandis have been bothering me on this subject of ma kana wama yakun
I gave them the refrence of tafseer of surah rahman ayat 4 from various tafseers (baghawi, khazin etc) but they are not accepting
So i came across this page while surfing the internet for more proofs

But the links provided on this page by brothers @Sunni Student & @maraqialFalah have expired and are not working kindly refresh them or atleast upload the content here itself


I also request you to kindly tell the baab (topic heading) or the hadees no. of ash shifa and fath al bari Under which the respected imams have written the aqida of ma kana wama yakun as mentioned by brother @Aqdas as i can't understand arabic and the page numbers get changed in urdu translations

Brother @Aqdas please upload the pdf of Nawab Siddiq Hasan Bhopali's book al-Iza'ah ma kaan wa ma yakoon baina yada sa'ah in pdf form as it is not available on internet
And tell the reference of imam haythami r.a
