i did not get any reply from the original poster whether he wanted tips on "how to read" or whether he wanted books on "etiquette for the reader."
but since you spoke of adab - here is a short list of books for islamic adab / etiquette.

some books like nuqaya, itmam dirayah, miftah al-sa'adah, abjad al-ulum, mafatih - are introductions to sciences, books on the subject and authors. not adab per se.
