One thing we should all bear in mind is that on Clubhouse Jake told Khalil Andani (Neo-Platonist Ismaili) the reason he doesn't want to accept [if I recall his wording precisely] 'actions without time' is that it would mean that in his debates with Christians he would 'have to appeal to mystery'. Andani pointed out that Jake has an apologetics-directed motivation in his theology, but didn't see any issue with that.

This is the target phrase:

"Okay, so there you have it. The difference in the effects ie the different possible worlds is explained by a difference in the cause (God) ie His power. This shows that God creating vs. not creating is a difference in His power. No way out of that once you've said what you have."

The high authorities of Ilm alKalaam have already considered these aspects of the argument. His question is not something new and has been thoroughly responded to by the scholars of Kalam. Even for someone who is a beginner in learning the KCA this question would cross their mind.

However, my point is a different one. The principles of Ilm alKalaam are taken from the Qur'an and as such are capable of being an appropriate tool in refuting an attacks other religions/atheists may lay towards the Deen. Meaning it is not dependent on the varying body of knowledge which humans carry (increase mostly in) over the ages.

Thus it would be asked of him to first define the parameters of the key words in his question such as - what is time? he has placed this word in the question as though there is a universal understanding and agreement on what this entity (time) is, whereas in reality it is one of the most disputed terms in science and religion today.
