Salaam.
Last week some unrelated reading caused me to look up "has there been enough time for evolution by natural selection" and - with lost of other stuff - I landed on a University Chicago page which was either a paper or a news item about a paper titled something like: It takes millions of years for a favorable mutation to stick.
It basically said that: once a mutation which is advantageous for a species' survival occurs (remember all this is blind and unguided) it doesn't immediately perpetuate throughout the population like a wild-fire. In fact, claimed the paper, it takes millions of years for that mutation to become a fixed trait of that species.
This was obviously an interesting claim so I left the tab open as I went about my other work. However, when I returned to it in the evening, and refreshed the tab (dunno why I did that, maybe accidentally), the paper was gone - the page simply flashed: "Page not Found"!
Since then I have looked high and low for it but without success.
If anyone can find it, please let me know. Maybe sound your friends/families studying at unis if they can point me to it.
