At this point, do Deobandis even follow their own fatwas? I'm seeing so many Deobandits sitting with Sunni-Sufi scholars in the West during Mawlid programs and invited to all sorts of podcasts and events. Some of them even wear the nalayn sharif caps.

Just another subterfuge I presume.

about 30 years ago, my elder brother attended a milaad mehfil organized by the traders of a local market, who were a mix of sunnis and tablighis. he told me that taqiyyah usmani was also invited, and during the recitation of salaam, he too stood up — what a hypocrite.
