given the numerous versions of ms-word, i would not count on it.
whenever i reinstall the machine i do it manually. after all, real programmers always prefer assembly...
 
is there a method to autocorrect the plain text into graphical/symbolic text so for e.g. instead of writing SallAllahu 'Alayhi Wa Sallam we can have the Arabic?!
 
nice! then again it maybe true if you started out in the 80s :)

Really great programmers on the other hand prefer, understand and use whatever they are given within a set constraint.

on to a more serious note, I have always thought programmers to be similar to certain groupings amongst Muslims, particularly those who seek knowledge in the hope of self-rectification.

there are various mindsets that they develop as they progress when learning new things. there is the awe in the new knowledge and what it can do. Remember when OOP became the next big thing and then Model based development? then there is the bigot phase. where that particular knowledge is the end all and be all of everything. it is the solution to all our problems and everyone should adopt this way/method. then they try to apply this in the real world and are not at all bothered with the consequences or the ripple-effect of its application.

then they get real world experience in application. More knowledge is gained and then they get out of the bigot phase into a phase whereby the understanding of the whole is now taken before venturing out into its application. As more knowledge of this is gained, more understanding sets in and then they realise that concepts need to be merged, and trade-offs and sacrifices need to be made.
 
It's always a bit frustrating for me to see incorrect spellings of Islamic words, eg. SallAllahu alayhi wa sallam is often totally changed.

I think everyone should add the common words to their phone and pc autocorrects.
