hope for alzheimers?

wow! what a breakthrough.

i remember listening to the radio about muhammad ali's parkinsons disease. there were even suggestions that he step back in the ring and hope that being hit may reverse the effects because being hit is what caused it initially.

-----

on a separate note: some people may not want to retain some memories.

fantastic!
science really is a wonderful thing...i know as a scientist i'm biased but still it's changed the world more than anything else in history...

I hope Ali gets the treatment...

errm....

there is parkinson's that damages motor skills; and then there is alzheimer's, that wipes out memories. as far as i know, ali has parkinson's and reagan had alzheimer's. have a look at what happens to the brain with alzheimer's disease here.

alHamdu lillahi'l ladhi aafaana min mabtalaka bihi wa faDDalana ala kathirin minmman khalaqa tafDeela.

i think parkinson's affects memory too.

OR

perhaps sidi nj was alluding to the fact that one third of parkinson's sufferers end up with alzheimer's.

alaHazrat would read this du'a that is from the hadith everytime he saw someone with an illness and he says in al-malfuz that he regrets reading it on a few occasions because the prophets often had these ailments and alaHazrat wanted to have those ailments that the prophet's 'alaihim assalam had.
