from another thread regarding hadayiq:
another characterstic - which is very frequent in his poetry - is the use of homonyms, heteronyms and homophones; sometimes with an undertone.

this is from lakhon salam translated by our very own brother asif:
Rîsh e khush mu’tadil marham rîsh e dil
Haala e maah i nudrat pe laakhon salam

A beard of pleasant length, a salve for the heart’s wounds
Peace be upon the halo around the rarest moon!


am i right to think rish is used to mean beard and then to mean wound?
