Let's compile a list of good Sira books in English which we've read or had recommended.

1. Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم : His Life Based on the Earliest Sources by Martin Lings (alayhirahmat)

2. The Life of Muhammad by Ibn Ishaq, translated by A Guillaume.

3. Muhammad, Messenger of Allah (translation of Qadi Iyad's Shifa) by Aisha Bewley (is it still in print?)

4. Muhammad, Messenger of Islam by Adil (Shaykh Nazim's daughter).

The Life of the Prophet Muhammad (Al-Sira al-Nabawiyya) (Vols 1 to 4)
by Hafiz ibn Kathir
tr. Trevor le Gassick

I have not read this book, but it seems to have been well produced. Some hadith narrations have apparently been dropped from the translation because the editors didn't deem them to be authentic enough. I'm not sure if this expurgation was motivated by salafis.

i thought amina adil wrote the book and that she is wife of sh. nazim. but, i don't know too much about the family.

I think that it is a joint work of mother and daughter; although only the mother, Hajjah Amina Adil (wife of Shaykh Nazim) has been credited as author

Our Master Muhammad (salallahu alaihi wasallam)-The Messenger of Allah.

Volumes 1 and 2.......absolutely beautifully written and awesome content!

By Imam Abdallah Sirajuddin-al-Husayni
