Were the thirty chapters of the Glorious Qur’ān already established in the sacred era of the Sahaba?

Imām Jalāl al-Millat Wad-Dīn Suyutī rađiyAllāhu ánhu [d. 911/1505] in his famous book, al-Itqān fī ‘Ulūm al-Qur’ān, has compiled all the relevant ahadīth and narrations pertaining to the compilation of the Holy Qur’ān. It is not mentioned anywhere in this book of a chapter which tells us that it was done in that sacred era. Yes, the rukū’s existed.
