it piques me quite a bit when there is a q&a on an islamic tv channel and just because it is q&a, the scholar automatically becomes a 'mufti'.
i'm not saying the scholar asks to be called 'mufti' but the hosts/organisers/head of islamic affairs add this title. i'm sure they are aware that the guest scholar is not a mufti yet continue to repeat the title verbally and even in writing when their name appears on the screen.
just another off putting practice in my long list. sorry.
