Request for a translation of a poem by ala hazrat

Can one of the brothers please translate a naat from hadayiq-e-bakshish? It seems like an eternity since someone translated a naat. Maybe brother abu hasan or brother NJ can translate one? It would be appreciated by everyone in this forum, well, certainly all the Sunnis on this forum. I'm not going to speak on their behalf cause frankly, I don't understand how their brain or their thought processes work.

What a difficult position you have put me in!

all of Ala Hazrats naats are exquisite and asking me to pick out one is indeed a difficult decision but after much thought, I have decided that I'd love it if you could translate Uthado Parda.

May Allah reward you in this world and the next!!

please be careful while translating some figures of speech that could land you in trouble. alahazrat is using urdu which has a rich expression. carelessness can damage his lines as well as distort what he is trying to say.

thanks aqdas bhai. it would be good to use that if i wanted to translate a commentary.

here is my rendition of the first eight lines of the naat so far:

786/92

1.Utha do pardah dikha do chihra ke noor e baari hijab mein hai
2.Zamaana taareek ho raha hai ke mihr kab se niqaab mein hai

Lift up your veil and reveal your face for the Divine Light is hidden
The world is getting dark for the Sun has remained veiled for so long!

3.Nahin voh meeThii nigaah-vala, Khuda ki rahmat hai jalvah-farmaa
4. Ghazab se un kay Khuda bachaaye, jalal-e-baari 'itaab mein hai!

It is not that sweet-glanced one, but the Mercy of God made manifest!
May God save us from his anger—tis the Majesty of God roused!

5.Jalii jalii boo se uski paida hai sozish e ishq e chashmvaala
6.Kabab e Aahoo mein bhii na paaya mazza jo dil kay kabab mein hai

The smell of burning flesh identifies the fire of the love of that doe-eyed one
Not even roast venison smells as sweet as such a heart scorched by his love!

7.Terii jalv mein hai maah e Tayyiba hilal har marg o zindagii ka
8.Hayaat jaan ka rikaab mein hai, mamaat a'adaa ka Daab mein hai

In your radiance O' Medinan Moon moves the crescent of every life and death!
The Soul's life is in stirrups, the death of the enemy is in its noose!

[a Daab is a type of grass used to make rope according to Platts Dictionary]

...
after i complete this naat insha allah i will bid you all adieu. alwidah and assalamu alaykum from sunniport.

i just need some "time out" as the americans say!
i think i've been posting on this forum for 7 years on a daily basis with more
posts than nearly anyone!! plus my views have evolved to the point that i need
time by myself to think about things, to study deeply and reflect. maybe i will be back stronger than ever before. maybe not. we all change. as Muhammad Ali said, "if a man thinks the same at 40 as he did at 20 he has wasted 20 years of his life." I'm not THAT old yet but not far off either!

if any brothers miss me so much they can request my personal email via PM.
i might even oblige some of you ;)

NJ I hope we don't lose your input there are other platforms that will welcome your input wholeheartedly.

You are talented and it would be a shame to see such a talent especially from an Ahle Sunnat perspective to disappear.

Do not try to make it seem as if Br NJ's input is not welcomed nor appreciated here. He is a part of this platform and has grown it too which is wholeheartedly appreciated.

I'm sorry if you viewed my post in a negative light but Allah knows best my intentions were never as described above.

Very good point brother ... from a muslim perspective I feel his words would bring even more benefit not only in representing the sunni voice but more importantly the muslim voice to non-muslims.

I think I'm done with discussing my username I have a certain viewpoint and others have a different one. We don't all have to view things from the same angle let's just accept that.

humans are defined as rational animal. in other words, animal is the genus and rational is the differentia. every definition has these specifications. It would be interesting to define ahl al-sunnah as is required for proper definition.
